I think the same with, stranglers, undertones, buzzcocks. Let them carry on with singers or guitarist standing up but to me they shouldn’t be headliners at festivals now. Give the other up coming or new bands a chance near the top. All these top bands are brilliant part of punk and new wave but can’t take the limelight at all gigs forever. Just saying like. The angelic upstarts.. my best ever band. Can never continue without Mensi (R.I.P.) I think. You can’t replace the likes of these frontmen.
I can totally understand your view and there are other bands who aren't the same with the loss of one of their key members. But, I saw them around 4 years ago; they were excellent and just reminded me of what a brilliant back catalogue they had, most of which is down to Stuart. Had I seen the band with Stuart I may have thought differently but I'm glad I saw them and there was a lovely tribute to Stu before they played Woman in Winter (possibly one of THE most underrated songs ever IMO). I went home happy!
