Hi all 41:00 Although I took care of the Straggler I'm pretty sure I should still have drawn an Escort Reaction card here. Will see if I can make a fix to this, but may have moved on too far. Cheers Grant
47:20 - I agree with your decision to invalidate the escort roll here. Knowing where the escorts are prior to contact is a huge advantage, even if they are in bad positions.
27:15 You can't chase but you instead Reform during the Vector step if you get there before Contact is made. This is where you move LC fighters back into formation. Note that you need at least one Veteran to be able to create an Ad Hoc section (p.39) which means that single fighters may not be able to Reform. In your situation, I'd argue that only Red Section may Reform while Green Leader has to RTB.
11:52 - It doesn't matter if you move fuel cubes for aircraft not in play, even if it moves into one of the bailout boxes. You only suffer the bailout check if the fighter is one of those boxes, not if the fuel cube is.
15:54 - I play it that the loose fighter is still eligible to receive the hit. Usually you want the loose fighter to get the hit to try to keep the section together.
I think this makes the most sense. If you allow yourself to exclude the Loose fighter on the basis that he is no longer a part of the section, you may argue that no fighter should be hit if the section begun combat with just two fighters. So simply apply the hit before the Loose result!
41:04 - There's no reason to put a destroyed marker in the Bomber Formation area of the Interception Map. Destroying a straggler has no effect on the actual bomber formation. You should just record it on your patrol log.
I guess, but as I'm tallying up all my Bomber VPs at the end then I don't think it does any harm? Cheers. Ah no actually your right as I would have placed this destroyed marker on a Bomber. Doh. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers.
This passage from page 59 appears fairly clear to me: "Section dissolves? There must be at least two RAF Fighters in a Section, so if this result (Loose) happens to a Section with only two fighters, they both become independent RAF Fighters and are Lost Contact." The result should be the same regardless of why or in which order the section dissolves.
