Skiing the Matterhorn

Absolute skiing G and criminal how underrated this video is, easily on par with some of the craziest ski descents ever made.

Not sure why anyone would say this video is fake... The iron statue is definitely on the Matterhorn. On the final ridge climb you can clearly see the Weisshorn to the climber's right. Absolutely insane and incredible.

That is some climb, that nice 'walk in the park' on the ridge on the summit, certifiable or you must be a mountain kid/goat! The descent was incredible, relentlessly scary terrain, unbelievable climbing into your binding below that outcrop and then the skiing, often frozen water-slides, and the snow was brutal ! May 2015. You my man, posted the most extreme ski video in a long time, takes guts, incredible skill and mental prep to get that done. Congratulations! And you did this alone, no ski buddy, helicopter watching you ? Wow. Very Impressive, should be a Red Bull video..this was mind-freeze stuff.

great vid... earnt a beer after that run... must be super fit as that snow is hard going after a big climb.. nice to see some proper ski mountaineering.. good acid track as well

The statue of Saint Bernard is at 1:40. He was a great proponent of the Second Crusade which was largely a failure.

WOW and WOWOWOWOWOWOW....Well I know now how to get down faster when its my turn to climb The Matterhorn, almost safer to ski down than to walk, I skied the Wall in Bulgaria and this looked less steeper in some places... There is snow in May.. Cool....

Wow. Just wow. Excellent job. You sir, have some serious balls! I'm still trying to wrap my head around how steep that was. A very technical climb, and a very technical decent, and you made it look easy. Well, as easy as you can make skiing the Matterhorn look....What would you say that was? 60 degrees? That's one hell of an accomplishment that you'll remember the rest of your life. Enjoy the moment! I look forward to more of your videos!

Nice accomplishment, and thanks for posting. Anyone know what the slope is?

Does anybody know the average angle of that face? It seems pretty steep. For sure it is way, way above my skill level to ski on something like that, but overall this doesn't seem as extreme as I was imagining it would ( and that's probably mostly due to the amazing skill of Matthias).

It's unfortunate you cut out certain sections, like 4:23, where you probably rappelled a bit. I would have liked to see that.
