try jojoba oil for the flaking around your nose !! it contains natural antibacterials & soothes out irritated skin if needed. its also the only oil closest to resembling the natural oils our pores already produce. it moisturizes extremely well without leaving the face extra oily bc the oil's consistency is extremely thin & watery. it also works equally well on your hair as well. lmao this turned into a whooole damn novel but oh well
GIO I must say that you break barriers for men. Where i come from scrubs and skin care are seen as something a woman should do and not men. So i just admire how u take care of yourself and not worry about the stereotypes that we have today in our world. I say yes take care of everything. Im just proud to see you represent. ✊
Wow Gio. Thanks for the face wash routine you have good skin. So errumm.. can we get a shower rountine? Like do you use a sponge or towel? How do you rub the soap on ur chest? your legs? muscles? Dont tell me, im gonna need you to show me. P.S. dont forget to moisturize.
Flaky skin around nose! Got to put this out there. My husband had it for years. Prescribed steroid creams, everything! Then someone suggested using anti-dandruff shampoo on his nose as it COULD be the same fungus as head dandruff which feeds off hair oils, and well the nose area is an oily place. And it worked! He now regularly applies a little bit to his nose once a week when washing his hair in the shower. He hasn't had flaky skin around his nose since! Please let me know if this works for anybody else?
Since your skin is dry, the biore is doing nothing but making your skin even more dry since charcoal sucks impurities out. Stay away from foaming and purifying cleanser that's for ppl with oily skin. You don't want to suck out dry skin because it will make it more dry. I suggest ( since I too have dry skin) go to Sephora and speak to a skin care consultant. Your best bet is to use the First Aid beauty cleanser and the Ultra repair cream or the La mer cream for dry skin ( it's expensive but worth it). Since your nose is flaky that means you need to exfoliate. Not with a scrub with microbeads, but with a chemical exfoliation like a peel pad like the First Aid pads or the Peter Thomas ones. Trust me I have the same skin type as you and work in skincare and what I told you will work 😊.
jj jj girl, he doesn't need sephora. And I like Nivea, since German product is very reliable. I spent $150 on Lamer, so what? You need to find the right product with less chemical, but Sephora only offers expensive shit! And scrubbing will just make his skin more irritated, my suggestion is to avoid too many washing and try some coconut oil treatment once a week.
For your nose & an other area on your face that's flakey or rough try an astringent, the Walmart brand. The name use to be Sea breeze & now it's called Original Clean Astringent (sensitive skin) It's blue. I've been using this since I was 14 years old, I'm now 33. I literally can not live without this product.
I recommend trying out any kind of liquid toner like the L'Oreal pink toner and it's not too strong of a scent, it smells like rose water, and no alcohol. There's also maracuja oil which is very lightweight and has vitamin c that deeply moisturizes the skin, diminishes, wrinkles, and helps with smoothing the complexion. The maracuja oil could possibly help with the flakiness around the nose. I'm experimenting with it atm cause i have a dry chin and the rest of my face is combo skin, but i suggest plucking them and then applying the oil. Flakiness could be a sign of constantly touching that area. Putting on face masks may seem really girly but they really help with the complexion, but a really good homemade mask is turmeric, milk, flour, and coconut oil or olive oil (or whatever oil works) you can put in lemon (for dark spots and toning), honey, or any essential oil. This should be in a smooth liquidy paste and be careful! Because turmeric can stain so it'd be best to apply this with a brush
mylifeasreyna 777 best trick. exfoliating is key!!!! I do a brown sugar honey and olive oil mask. mix 2 Tbsp brown sugar honey and 1 tsp of olive oil. mix well. wet skin, then rub mixture in to face, focusing heavily on problem areas. wash face in cool water. dry and add moisturizer. youll have soft glowy moisture rich skin.
Your skincare routine looks pretty solid 👌🏽....but can I make two suggestions?? For your moisturizer I think you should try Cetaphil. It is specifically designed for dry, flaky skin and it is Non-scented. Also, I would not use the same cloth from the beginning of your routine after cleansing because that may cause you to redistribute pollution, dust, dirt etc to your clean face. I personally use facial tissues that way I know I won't cross contaminate. Hope this helps!!!
AccoRdiinG2Bri Cetaphil is full of chemicals and I tried their cleanser twice then I had to threw the whole bottle to garbage bin. I suggest people don't use Cetaphil unless you have really really oily and thick skin.
Snowberry Ca a lot of products have multiple ingredients and everything won't work for everyone unfortunately. For the cleanser maybe you should have tried the Cetaphil Antibacterial Facial Bar. I found that to be a lot better than the facial wash in the bottle. The products are designed for people with seriously dry skin, flaky skin, skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema etc so if you don't suffer from any of these conditions it might not work for you unfortunately. I can tell you that I had combo skin before I used the moisturizer, but now my skin is completely hydrated. Hopefully you will find something that actually works for you. Good Luck! @Snowberry Ca
My skin flakes and I use a spin brush it helps but I also use shea butter on my face it's a good moisturizer but if you choose to use it don't use too much a little goes a long way😂
Don't disappear for years this time! Even though I'm a female without curly hair, I believe there need to be more men like you in the beauty guru pool. So far you're doing great! And if we can't give you ideas or you can't think of a video to shoot, go look at some other channels (men's and womens). Get an idea and make it your own. everybody does something different. you're personality is awesome, you're great in front of the camera, and you have a lot to offer. already 75k subs and it's only gonna go higher! keep on keepin on😘
there's so many options when it comes to skin care, you also have to eat right as well. There's clays, scrubs, alcohol based, light cleansing types etc. I love st. Ives apricot scrub and cetaphil. I use alot of natural things too like a honey mask or just put on aloe vera straight from the plant. I usually put on a tiny bit of Shea butter or the same cocoa butter lotion u used on my face afterwards
Nivea Charcoal face wash is life!! I found what helped me, in addition to using the charcoal face wash I would also use Nivea Baking Soda face wash, with a fabric bath glove (gently exfoliating problem area, in circular motions with finger tips) and moisturizing my face with a very little amount of Cold Pressed Organic Coconut Oil. If your not a fan of coconut oil you can try olive oil, argan oil, grape seed oil, tea tree oil or rose hip oil allow your skin to absorb the oil and apply your preferred cream afterwards if you choose to do so. Hope this helps. Blessings to you.
Omg I use a charcoal face wash too! But mine is from Garnier Fructis. What is also good for your face is "Fresh rose face cleanser" it's extremely expensive, like 50 dollars but it's worth it and as long as u use it you'll never have a blemish on your face I promise. smells great and your face will have more slip than your curls when applying deep conditioner lol, but yeah that's the 2 I use, you continue to be a beautiful soul Gio #TeamGio
Try using oatmeal soap instead. Charcoal does nothing but make your skin even drier because it sucks out impurities. Second, I have eczema, so I get those dry flakes too. Try shea butter along with the cocoa butter you use. Third, I oil cleanse. Take some oil (olive, coconut, jojoba, whatever you want) and spread it all over your face, then take that hot washcloth, leave it on your face for about 20 seconds, then wipe the oil off. Go in with the oatmeal soap, cold water rinse, then moisturize with the cocoa butter an shea butter.
I have flaky skin around my nose too. Using an exfoliating brush helps. I also use baby lotion to moisturize and baby oil to lock in the moisture, it helps keep my skin moisturized and to stop flaking
Mr. G, your skin look wonderful! Keep up the good work. 1st rule of skin care--keep it simple & continue to do what works for you. We all hv to customize our routines. Next, throw in a simple weight lifting vid or pushups/situps for this contributes to healthy hair & skin. You are a new health guru--people love you on camera!
I used to have a similar problem about patchy/ flaky skin with dry parts (I literally looked like a cow because of my discoloration hahaha :D ). So anyways, I stopped using my vaseline based moisturizer (which Nivea is Vaseline based) and it got better. Maybe because I am allergic or my skin doesn't do well with Vaseline's pore clocking properties idk. But I would recommend you to just use cacao butter and leave out the lotion. Maybe try it for like a few weeks, maybe it helps you to. Greetings from Germany
Of course my skin is much older than yours, but I do have the same dryness around the nose area. I use tea tree oil at night for mine and that seems to work. I enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing.
About your fleakiness (That's how it's written?), I use Bepantol on the corners of my nose, and helps A LOT. I also use this nivea lotion and it`s a very good one
Love your videos! I used to suffer with flaking on my nose. I started toning with Apple Cider Vinegar (fill a small container about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way with ACV and the rest with filtered water) and using Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, or Vitamin E Oil as a moisturizer. It cleared right up!
I use an actual Aloe Vera plant and chop it into pieces and rub the gel into my skin and then use a moisturizing lotion. (Clinique Dramatically Different) or Nivea Facial Lotion in the blue tube which I believe is the thicker version. You almost have to treat your skin like you would your hair. Using the LOC method. Liquid (Aloe Vera plant is water based) , Oil (almond or argan oil are good light oils), & a creme as in your lotion. I would only use this at night before bed though!
Just a tip, if the water you are using is too hot it could be drying out your skin. Also try using an oil cleanser, as I find it works for drier skin types.
The dryness is from the cleanser lol the 2nd or 3rd ingredient is Sodium Laureth Sulfate which is commonly known to dry out hair and skin. Its pretty harsh. I recommend a creme cleanser that is more gentle on the skin. Also a toner after u cleanse. It'll help balance the ph of the skin causing less dryness/breakouts. But not sea breeze or anything with alcohol in the toner bc it'll just cause more dryness
I use a charcoal cleanser too, but I use Garnier Skinactive instead of Bioré. It has really keep my breakouts under control during this pollen season, whereas I used to break out soooo bad. 😩
i have flaky skin around my nose too and i use the Bioré charcoal nose strips and it helps a lot then i use coco butter on right after and on my t-zone . i've been doing this for 6 or 7 years now. it doesn't prevent flakiness but it does reduce it a lot and i do that once about every 9 to 10 days .
nice, G! I use Simple face wash. really great natural and gentle product for your skin but still does a thorough cleanse. I have normal to oily skin, meaning, I'm dry on the outer parts of my face like my chin, corners of my nose around my mouth, and I'm oily on my T-Zone area. This is a great video! I love that u wash with warm water then go in again and splash with cold water I do it too! lol just to close up my pores.😁 I would say use a Toner after u wash and b4 u put on moisturizer to hydrate &bring back the PH Balance to your skin. a tried and true toner for me is Witch Hazel. keep doing your thang, G! #love
I also use the Biore charcoal cleanser but I found that the Shea Moisture African Black soap Problem skin facial wash and scrub works a lot better. Well at least for my skin. It clears it and brightens it and also leaves a wonderful softness to it. It's a little on the pricer side but I guarantee it is worth it.
I also get those small buttons on my nose I just use a the black charcoal peel off mask to help it and I also use a hot face cloth to open my pores so i can clean it. I use cocoa butter to moisturize my face because any scented lotion really affects my eyes and nose and also scented cream, perfumes and colones, so i use a very light body spray
For flaking, you should try applying olive oil to your face overnight then in the morning wash like you regularly would, and also when you dry your face off at the end, pat dry don't rub
I love ur hair! Can u do a hair tutorial on how u do that? I have that same problem of dryness with my face. I mix a little bit of the cocoa butter petroleum jelly n with my moisturizer on lotion n then put that on my face. That usually helps a lot. It's not very scented so u should b good as far as the scent goes.
I have dry skin around my nose and chin but the rest of my face is oily, something that my skin likes is vitamin E oil, it also has helped me with my dark spots and my acne has gotten better.
for my skin care I only have a 2 step a cleanser and moisturizer for me. citiphile facial cleanser and clean and clear dual action moisturizer with 1 percent alcohol. it's really great it isn't a heavy moisturizer for starters and with the alcohol in it it helps to prevent new acne from popping up. I'm looking into adding in a mask into my regiment because it's getting close to the summer and I work out so that's more sweat and bacteria to deal with then normal.
Yes! I freakin loveeeee the Nivea creme. Been using it for like 6-7 months and I have dry skin and my skin is always soft. I use it all over my body and it is freakin amazing
omg I never knew cocoa butter helps with uneven skin tone. my daughters are biracial and they have spots that are lighter also. I'm gonna try that to see if it helps!!!
Hi Gio! New subbie from Bianca Renee Today! I have really dry and flaky skin in my T zone as well. I try to exfoliate my skin once a week or every other week. Also, I use Vitamin E or chamomile or grape seed oil on those areas at night as a treatment to combat the dryness in the morning. I used to use the oil cleansing method with chamomile or grape seed oil and thayers sensible skin rose water toner ( I think Hey Fran Hey has an old video on this) and that worked out very well for me. Also, hot water tends to cause more dryness and flakiness for me, so I tend to only use warm, lukewarm and cool water for my face. Try the Clairsonic, I swear it's a complete game changer! I'll try the Palmer's for my lighter areas!
I also NEVER use charcoal because it's whole purpose is to suck out all impurities an excess oil, but I have dry skin, so it tend to suck all the oil and moisture out of my skin.
I would say use Clearasil Products Line Face wash daily cleaner and Oil Pads. I like Aveeno Clear Complexion Pad..They work very well. It works well on my oil/dry skin. Keep up good work bro!!!
U don't need electrical cleanser, it can hurt your skin. You are doing absolutely fine on your cleaning routine, maybe less cleaning products in the morning, the chemical stuffs in cleanser are just making your skin dry.
I have extremely dry skin that use to flake up all the time. Then I stopped using moisturizers because they were too lightweight for my skin type, and switched to coconut oil. It hydrates and moisturizes my skin so well, my face soaks it up like a plant does with water. My face doesn't flake up anymore, I would give it a try.
My dude! I get the flakiness around the nose too and the splotchy patches at change of season. Almond Oil is the key my g, no smell and you'll be moisturized all day. Keep the charcoal, but if you wanna keep it guy-simple, but a Salux cloth and wash your face in the shower.
someone already said witch hazel which is wise after you wash your face and b4 you put the lotion or coco butter on it evens skin tone balance ph tighten skin...also the scrub you should use like one of twice a week you have dry skin not the best for you..but olive oil around the dry area is good too
My nose does the same thing . All I do is scrub it real good to reduce the dryness . After I put on lotion. Then but a little bit of vaseline on my nose & around it.
honestly if you just wash & exfoliate with hot water at night and the apply a small bit of coconut oil overnight, I find I wake up with glowing & moisturized skin. A lot of the face washes have alcohol and what not that works against the moisturization
I have just discovered your channel and I LOVE IT, your hair is awesome and i hope one day mine will be as beautiful as yours ! Keep going, i'm waiting for your next video ! (excuse my english, i'm french and i don't speak english that much..)
