@@luckyswain1041 I constantly try new cleansers all the time. My current favorites are the Juno & Co Clean 10 Cleansing Balm (1st oil cleanse), and the Geek & Gorgeous Jelly Joker Cleanser (2nd cleanse), which is the most hydrating and non-drying cleanser I've ever used. For moisturizers, I love the IUNIK Centella Calming Gel Moisturizer in the day because it's so lightweight and natural matte. For night, I use a slightly heavier moisturizer and I change that one up a lot. Currently my favorites are Stratia Liquid Gold and Malezia 5% Urea Moisturizer.

Hi Everyone! If you have oily skin and just want a little hydration, then skip one of the serums and the moisturizer, since sunscreen can technically be a moisturizer. That said, this routine is specifically for people with dehydrated skin that get a greasy top layer. It’s important to replenish your skin!

This is great! I've struggled with acne and oily skin all my life. I visited a dermatologist and turns out I have severely dehydrated combination skin. Not only all my acne is gone, but my skin never looked better. It's good to see your routine for this issue.

@@aleslipovskyy hi Ales, I have combination skin, acne prone and live in a tropical climate and use these: lots of hyaluronic acid ( the one from the ordinary is not that good compared to others from La Roche Posay HA + B5 or AHC), sheet masks as often as I need (1-4 times a week), ceramide serums ( Dr Jart, Cerave), Buffet serum from The Ordinary, Hepta peptide serum from The Inkey List, niacinamide serum from The Inkey List, moisturizer Peat Miracle Revital Cream from Belif or one from Curel. I use a sunscreen from Biore, and I wash with an oil cleanser and a hydrating cleanser from Cerave. I alternate between those serums. Sometimes it's not enough and then I need to see a cosmetician for a facial ( they use all kinds of devices to push HA deep inside my skin) and that holds for about a week. I don't scrub at all and don't chemically exfoliate often, maybe once a month. And drink heaps of water. It helps and I noticed big differences in how my skin looks, the acne is gone and my skin no longer feels tight or gets oily. I think you should consider though your skin type and climate before picking a routine. Best of luck!

That's how I realized I'm doing my skin routine wrong and started my journey: different skin routine and seeing a dermatologist and a cosmetician (even though I know this can be expensive and challenging now).

Susan is speaking my language with that Oily and Dehydrated skin! I think I went through a skin barrier issue as well last year in the spring. I fixed my skin barrier with CeraVe products. However, currently I am using products that we prescribed to me by my dermatologist, a spring thermal water from LaRoche Posay, and the Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid Serums from The Ordinary, and of course a sunscreen. It has really helped my blackheads and that feeling of tightness after I wash my face. I also double cleanse at night with the Honest Gel-to-Milk cleanser. I also stopped cleansing my face twice daily (that has really helped too). Good luck everyone with their skin care routines and thank you Susan!!

Hi Susan! I agree with you completely. My dermatologist also suggested the same thing to avoid using cleansers in the morning since our skin is already clean from the night before. Unfortunately not everyone knows this.

I believe it was 5 years ago I purchased the Primera Essence, from my experience it was hydrating but that’s all I remember about it. I did not break out from it, the bottle lasted me about 4-5months. I have combination skin, dealing with dehydration and hormonal acne.

This is how my skin right now. Oily and dehydrated. I been using water based hydrators, oil free moisturizer and seal it in with Squalane oil. I've tried everything so hoping this will eventually work.

One more question, when your skin Was dehydrated did you experienced dry sunken under eyes, saggy cheeks, visible smile lines, lifeless face, bigger pores etc or what was your case? Cause that me right now🥺 It has gotten better thankfully by using a gentle clenaser and using hydrating and fat moisturizer. I also ordered PyunkangYul essence toner that is a hydrating toner. But I feel like my dehydrated skin is aging me so badly and I look older than I am, deffo dont look like I used to only month ago

This is quite similar to how I do my skincare routine, I'm mildly oily to normal. I almost empty the Primera Essence, but I don't hate it obviously cos I douse on my skin, but I find it doesn't do much besides providing the anti-oxidant benefit, which I think you can't really feel it. Personally I'd prefer the Missha First Treatment Essence. But both are amazing essences, you can't really go wrong for any skin type.

Topic for an episode: My usually normal/dry skin has been breaking out along the side and bottom edges of my COVID face mask. The masks that are disposable and the triple layer washable masks. That Primera Essence is my holy grail. It really is a miracle liquid. Heals my acne, my spots and wrinkles. So sad I ran out and Sephora doesn’t sell it anymore in stores So I ordered on stylevana and it’s been almost a month now and it still hasn’t reached ups yet. The Make P:rem is a very mattifying (and sometimes even too drying) mineral sunscreen. Keep Cool Bamboo Sun Essence is a super lightweight chemical sunscreen with no white cast, and it keeps my super oily skin pretty matte throughout the day. The Axis-Y No Stress Physical Sunscreen is also really lightweight, gentle, but good at controlling oil with minimal white cast. (Zinc oxide in physical sunscreens is more mattifying, but I know it can leave some white cast.) Purito Comfy Water is the sunscreen that keeps me the most matte without drying me out (it was my holy grail) but ever since the Purito SPF controversy I'm scared to recommend that one to people.

I also don’t like to cleanse in the morning but always feel like I need to take off any night time products before I use my day time product so I’ll just use a warm not hot just like warm soft wash cloth like the face halo or makeup eraser and just do a gentle water cleanse. I don’t even know if my skin is dehydrated but it’s definitely oily. I don’t like using moisturizer in the morning though. I use it at night. Morning my spf is enough moisturizer for my skin.

Sunscreen can definitely work as a moisturizer so there's nothing wrong with that! And if you wanted more moisture or to treat a specific issue, you could use a lightweight toner or serum before sunscreen.

Maybe for night time it would be good. I have oily and dehydrated skin too, and I use heavy occlusive moisturizers at night, especially since I feel like my AHA/BHA dries out my skin at night.

I have combination skin and I have a problem on my forehead its dry and on my checks and chin is very oily. My skin changed sense I've been wearing the mask now my forehead is so dry and it's starting to wrinkle I never had wrinkles before I but when I wear the mask I it's just been getting so bad can you give me tips on this so far I've been using the cerphil hydration moisturizers lotion it's been helping some but i may need more tips on this. The sunscreen will fill in this step. I like using a hydrating spray beforehand & then throw on my sunscreen again. To be honest most Korean sunscreens are full of replenishing ingredients, that’s why I love them.

Just wondering why you don’t put much on your eyelids? I had black soot coming into my NYC apt, giving me cystic acne but i don’t know that and was using exfoliate face wash 3x a say, double washing 2 of this times, plus skincuticles HA ha retinol, i literally burned my face off. I’ve ruined my skin barrier and been struggling since oct 2020. Vit c Bstat made me red and that’s what started it so i assumed it was me not the apt, until the apt got so had we had to move and call lawyers (it was in my fridge ruined all our belongings). Been doing only CerVe Lotion cleanse and their PM moisturizer for both am and pm since December. I tried the HA again and broke out, also got inkys list SA and Broke out and tried the skincuticles Retinol and broke out. So now on back to just the cereve. How do i add or chance without irritating more? Please help! Thank you for your videos i watch them every night. (Skin type: 3 family generations back zero acne, had normal skin until the vit c)

@@MN-so7xr I’ve been wearing sunscreen on my face for over 25 years every day. i live in nyc and I’ve been in quarantine for nearly 2 years i don’t go outside. It’s a good thing though since i can’t tolerate any sunscreen now as my face is healing from the soot ruining mine skin barrier.
