I knew loads of them . I was a mohecan 1983 in the west end. Great days

I remember well when I first became a Skinhead about 79/80. I was 13 years old walking through the shopping centre when some big cowardly lump about 17 years old grabbed me, started pushing me about and threatened to beat me up. Two Skinheads came along about his age and one of them kicked the nuts out of him. That was it they were my heroes and there was only one fashion I was going to follow.

I got to be good friends with Dave, abs solid chap last time I saw him was when he wandered into my neck of south London on his extended forks Vespa PX and we had a right proper catch up, I'd not long been out the nick and had started going to scooter rallies meself. Still a DM's and flighty sort o' chap, Carnaby St lot would have remembered me as "Wink" in between my daring escapes from clink and straight up to Carnaby I would go. Then channel 4 released a documentary about me in 84 and destroyed any street cred I had pretty much, some might remember C4 up in the flea market and down the street.

Fuck me! that Dave got around used to see him everywhere from Putney to carnaby street and everywhere in between,knew loads of mates that knew him too.greek I think he was then I heard he turned 'casual'and hung around with a load of them.

Been watching lots of these vids lately plenty of nostalgia and this popped up, and I noticed The photo of 'Phil', looks familiar would be right age and area, but there was no 'Now' photo, might or might not be him, last name starts with R and worked in authority ? I sure its him, but its bugging me, thanks in advance.

Skinheads were from the early 70's, reggae was the music, suedeheads came after, much smarter, loved the fashion then, followed by hideous oxford bags, big collars and northern soul.

It's a shame growing old but great keeping loyal to the end
