Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was quoted saying he’s: 'probably the most beat up' he’s ever been heading into Week 11 of the NFL season. Mayfield is dealing with a fractured shoulder, a torn labrum, a foot injury and a knee contusion. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to Baker’s comments about his injury. Skip is sympathetic to the injured Mayfield, while Shannon is taking a hard stance on how being hurt is not an excuse. The 5-5 Browns are scheduled to take on the winless Detroit Lions in Cleveland on Sunday.

i think the counterexample and the indictment of baker mayfield is ryan tannehill. maybe before the loss of derrick henry you'd think baker's situation and play style is similar to tannehill's, minus ryan's running ability. offense predicated on running first, strong offensive line play, opening up the play action for short- to mid-level passes most of the time on half the field. we all thought the titans' season was over when henry went out, but tannehill has picked up his play to continue helping them win. baker's play does not elevate when hunt or chubb is out. his output tends to diminish without either of them.

Other players got commercials, endless amounts, but they managed to accomplish something of note. Progressive annointed Baker Mayfield, without Baker doing anything! Michael Jordan, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, those guys did something that merits seeing their mug when the game isn't being played. Baker Mayfield has not.

Skip is the master of using a tiny game sample when a certain player did sumthjn good in a small sample even tho they've played alot more than that small sample like baker in that small sample 8 9 games he has been in tbe nfl for 4 years now that's the only time he's been good he's done tbe samethin wit other guys like Ben simmons he always brings up 1 game or series he shot free throws good or wit lonzo ball he would bring up the 1 season at ucla he shot 3s good but he never does that 4 players he doesn't like he doesn't say that 1st 3 seasons obj had was legendary historic or lebron shot free throws at a high % that 1 month so I no he can do it a small sample size doesn't take away the bigger sample size we've seen when a player only plays good 25% of tbe time u can't say they're great cuz that 25% of games they showed they can be great even tho 75% of their career they've been trash it makes no sense u r wat u r if a majority of tbe time ur trash then more then likely ur trash he's ralkin bout baker like he's a backup coming in 2 start a game well I've seen him play good and win b4 so maybe he can do it this week man he's annoying sumtimes if I wasn't a cowboys fan he would be annoying all the time
