Hurray, finally someone has reviewed the base model rather than a fully loaded '80' model!! I would definitely lay out the Crazy Golf course in the boot :D You're the first non-German reviewer to know how to release the rear boot cover!! Missed the Ice Scraper though! I saw Apple Carplay on the screen, but not Android Auto. Doesn't have it? I wonder whether any of the Options can be added after purchase?
@WhichEV
@WhichEV 3 года назад
Thanks! We were really pleased to be sent this rather than the "cheaper VW ID.4 1st Edition". It's really a very serviceable vehicle.
@enyaq_gorm

Yeah it has android auto. He only had an iPhone so it showed car play. I only have an android so mine doesn't show car play. This review confused me, on the one hand the price to qualify for the grant is said to be good, but in the other hand the options list is a mistake? If the features weren't optional it would not get the grant. I got everything I wanted, including 10p kW charging and the HUD for £37k. Very happy with my choice

Press fleets usually loan out fully loaded cars. We try to mention all the variants when we do our reviews even if we've been sent the top model. This was unusual, and welcome.

Very nice review. I live in Ireland and I got the 80 Iv. I did not spec it myself as the garage had done it. I would have to wait over six months to spec one myself. So it came with Eco suite, 3 zone climate pack, family pack and tow hitch preparation but not the hitch. Here this car costs €56,000 which includes the 3 year service pack that is not an option you just have to get it. There is a €5K government grant for and EV under €60K and the garage applies for that for you. There is also a €600 grant for a home charger. Got the letter from Škoda about a week later on that service pack and it cost €1250 with 3 yearly services at 20,000 Kms whichever comes first so 60,000 kms altogether but a nice surprise was that it includes a full set of tyres over the 3 years. I totally agree with you as the options are crazy and I would have gone for the upgrade to 125KW charging capability if I could have. I love the car so far and one surprise for me is that the car will slow itself down when travelling from one speed zone to a lower speed zone. Of course you can override that by pressing the accelerator but if you get caught speeding you can only blame yourself. That cup holder in the front is adjustable and that larger hook in the boot is actually to hold the emergency triangle which the garage don’t put in until you are taking delivery so can’t blame you for missing that. Like your style of review so have subscribed 👍.

@mistercrow1983
@mistercrow1983 2 года назад
They're options, not mandatory addons. If they added them all as standard, then everyone would complain the car's too expensive and that it'd be nice to get rid of several features and thus pay less for the car. Proof that you just can't please everyone. Options are GOOD, because they're OPTIONAL. It's the buyers problem if they want to spend an extra £10k on options, when they could have bought a different car for that price (that probably included those options as standard anyway!)
@WhichEV
@WhichEV 2 года назад
@@mistercrow1983 You're seeing this the wrong way round. There are virtually no options with Teslas, and Korean cars only have a few trim levels generally. If you add the same level of options, most German cars (and the Skoda is a VW car) show their true colours - expensive. Try parking this car without a reversing camera. Possible, obviously, but you will really wish you had one. It's something Korean cars have for a lower price. This is like budget airlines. Cheap if you can travel with no baggage, but add that on, and it's the same price or more than an airline that includes those as standard.

Looks better than vw and mainly is bigger not sure if Hyundai is better, probably faster changing 5 years warranty.. The only down side is that cameras, sensors and automatic opening boot should be standard, 2012 Range Rover Evoque got these 9 years ago so it should be standard in 2021 even 360 ° Cameras.. That would attract buyers to consider el. cars, not to mention safety features like side automatic lifting before crash from side, you can get much better specs for £30K for petrol cars, el cars will be value for money in 3 years , I am also wondering if it has got a remote control heater in order to pre heat your car before driving in winter?
