5:24 The torque converter doesn't have a clutch like you're thinking :D :D It's a fluid coupled gearbox - you can launch it aggressively as there is no clutch to be dumped.
@@TheDriversHub lol why it doesn't let you do that? I do that almost everyday on virtus AT which has same engine and gearbox.. the results are understandable but your explanation for result is not correct. there is no chance you can shift faster than an AT because shifting time for a TC is about 0.40 seconds which is not achievable by a manual driver (at least if you guys are driving the car lol). The manual wins because of the power loss in an automatic transmission and due to heavy weight of an AT.
Nope, the Kushaq AT we had didn't let us do any sort of aggressive launches at all. We did the brake boost technique and it only revved barely till 2k rpms. If you're doing the neutral to drive trick then best of luck for your gearbox. 👍Also doing this stuff on a car not meant to do that is not advisable. Ofcourse you know what you're doing but not everyone does. 🤷
@@TheDriversHub Do you understand the working of a TC? The N to D thing to launch the car is required in DSGs not TCs because they are dry clutch... In torque converter we don't have a clutch it runs on fluid mechanism when fluid rotates in the gearbox with the help of which it rotates the drive shaft and multiplies the torque (which is why it is called torque converter) so damaging the gearbox by doing aggressive launch isn't a thing in these gearboxes. Try that again you will learn.
I found the automatic to be more zippy to be honest.. because of shorter gearing, and torque buildup from torque converter, even the turbo lag is better contained in the auto along with gearing being lower so car stays in mid range.. Im sure rolling races wud be much more interesting in terms of real world usage
Doesn't make any difference. All of these cars that have "sports mode", regular cars like the Kushaq or i20 or whatever, sports mode just tells the gearbox to hold the gear for longer at higher RPMs. It doesn't really change much, so really won't make a difference especially in a straight line race where your foot is anyways flat to the floor.
