@thandolwenkosideube1942 really glad it helped :-) The hardest bit is finding a colour matched wing on eBay, but as long as your patient they do come up..
@@doezer999 It is but the shade will be subtly different - due to minor variations in the mix. Bodyshops tend to fit the panel and then spray, blending it in with the door - the eye notices more side to side differences than up and down. Cost for that won't be much more than having it sprayed in isolation. Personally I would wait and get one the right colour - it's less hassle if you can be patient. But if you are in a rush - suggest ask for Facebook reccommendations for bodyshops near you, give one a ring and get a rough quote - they will probably want to see it first.. Hope that helps?
@@doezer999 Glad it helped :-) Yes that's easy - look in your boot - in the spare tyre wheel well. There will be a white sticker. Your colour code will likely be paired with a code for the interior, so it will look something like LA7W-8E8E and next to it should say "Paint No. / Interior". Therefore you want the first bit of the code, in this example LA7W. If you search eBay for "Mk2 Octavia breaking LA7W" (obvs replace with your colour code) then you should find some suitable donor vehicles. Most breakers will post. Be prepared to be patient and ask as many as you can find - most breakers will have sold and won't reply to you, eventually you will get lucky :-)
@doezer999 yes almost certainly the same procedure or very very similar. I did one on an old Peugeot 206 years ago and it was almost identical on that too. The process is fairly standard. The Mk2 Octavia was a lot easier to work on in many respects - no need to remove the bumper to change the headlights for example. So you might find it's a bit more straightforward.. Just take your time, and think logically - you'll be fine :-) Let me know how you get on?
@lukecarr9825 I don't believe so I'm afraid - the headlight shape changed with the facelift, and the front wing forms part of the headlight surround. So I think it is not the same unfortunately. Hope that helps?
