I just rented a new Octavia with 1.4 TSI engine and 7 shift DSG box. A very comfortable family cruiser, and also incredible fun in sport mode!! DSG is awesome in sport mode, really clever! The color touch screen and media center worked very well, so user friendly! Nice sound and bass too. The car has improved so much since my 2004 model. Too narrow in the back for three children though. Terrible music in the video...
good lord, new octavia looks very good :) my parents bought skoda octavia 2007, its a very good car, uses not much fuel and so on. for conclusion, i love that car :)

@jam4lifeus i used to own '03 Audi A4 and I drove '10 Skoda Octavia. Very similar. Skoda still has it's annoying interior material, but it has better design touch. Skoda improved much! I'm very impressed. Although... 1.4 engine is a mistake!!!
@jooppac its hard to pronounce "š" for english speaking people. So saying "skoda" is helping to talk about it, but it is "škoda", it was supposed only for slavic countries but from 1990, you cant stop the expansion, and than you need internationally spoken version which people can tell, not to break their tongue over it :)
Anyone who says any negative comment on the car, I think you should try it first at yourself before you post any profanic comments, all of my remarks in this car are positive because I own one and I proved its quality compared with '03 VW.
About all comments, that Škoda is just VW. So if this right, explain me why spain Seat (also owned by VW) produce 2,5 x time less cars than czech Skoda? They have same possibilities as Skoda. Explain me why country which have 5x time more peoples than Czech republic isn´t so sucesfull in car produce? For me explication is easy. Czech republic have huge peoples capital (well technics ability) with 115 year long history with produce cars.

@MissGaIaxy What? What kind of logic are you using mate? There is a single plant in Russia making Škoda in Kaluga, all they make is Fabias and Octavias.... Škoda is Czech and we have the biggest plants here... I live 20km away from the Mladá Boleslav plant, that's the home city of Škoda, it's like a little Wolfsburg. Škoda is manufactured all over the world just like VW. So is VW Chinese since they make cars there?
One asks if it's Russian and the other answers German, wow, if you don't know, don't answer idiot. It's a Czech car, it's only owned by VW, like Audi. Our cars have great quality, unlike VW (personal experience with a golf and passat) and are affordable. Why would anyone get an A4, when they can get a Superb? Just for the brand?
"fat butt genetic crossover" That´s how I regard ANY Octavia model design: "fat butt" for obvious reasons, and "genetic crossover" because I´m afraid that the Octavia designers have ALWAYS been so unoriginal to my view that, rather than designing a car of their own, they copied pieces form several cars (lights, radiator, rear lights, windows and so on) and put them altogether. This one for instance reminds me, seen its front, to some older Lexus, Audi, BMW or even a Mercedes.
did you ever been in BMW??? Is interior comparable to Mercedes-Benz??? NO IT ISN'T... It is same crap as cars in vw/audi group... And I was comparing it to skoda interior wise and styling.... I said that they have way better motors and AUTO gearboxes... and 4x4 trans....

if skoda is crap, what is then audi and vw? Not to mention same BMW crapy interior... only MB is way better... oh yes, BMWs are good beacause of motors... thats all and even manual trans. are crap at bmw... don't be an ass hole and talk bad about skodas... save it for yourselve... Nice car... When equiped with basic trim, than is not so good, it's really ugly, but in that trim, it looks fantastic :D
