Gone is the 1.2 TSI and in its place comes the new 1.0 TSI engine in the Volkswagen Vento. The new engine puts out 108.5bhp of power and 175Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There’s no DSG automatic, the Vento will get a regular 6-speed torque converter automatic in September.
The award-winning engine shared with the Up GTI gets the Vento TSI from 0-100kmph in 10.2 seconds and has a top speed close to 190kmph.
Along with the new engine the Volkswagen Vento also gets a slight styling update. This is the TSI Edition which gets side stickers, blacked out roof, spoiler and wing mirrors and LED headlights. It is priced Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the Highline Plus at Rs 10.99 lakh representing great value for money.

I beg to differ. Petrol sedans are known to be silent, smooth, you are right in pointing out 'refinement' as compared to 1.2TSI!! Otherwise, people would have taken a diesel engine car!! I am watching this in Dec. 21, Much has changed!! Why they killed 1.2TSI, 1.4 TSI? Is 1.0TSI Manufactured from the scratch, or only fitting work is done here? 1.5TSI is still imported? Pathetic!! I am seriously hunting to buy a second hand 1.2TSI Vento!! I like the shape( optimum for indian traffic roads) God bless the new trend of 'Bigger sedans' like Ciaz, New Honda City, & now Slavia!! Arre, Builders provide 12 feet parking to park only wagonR!! How are you going to get the parking space? You can somehow fit a 14 and half feet Vento into 12 foot length!!! What will you do for bigger cars? Are Indian roads, covered parkings, equipped for this?

@@sirishch They are not bringing because people are not buying. They introduced 2010 Polo and I bought one and at the time monthly sales were only 3500 max. They were expecting much higher sales because they thought a premium international brand bringing a hatchback would sell well. Unfortunately it only got worse. I own a 10 year old polo tdi(2010). Done 152,000 km. Works like a charm. Enjoyed highway driving at consistent 150+ speeds. Remember watching you avidly on Overdrive. Nice to see you take on a more driving oriented review. That decal on the door looks rather cheap and aftermarket. The main issue with VW group cars is they loose a lot a value in very short time.

Garbage level of customer support and service from VW and Skoda. It's a joke to buy their cars. Previously owned a Vento and a Cross Polo. Man I hated my life. If you still buy their cars, expect no support on warranty of car and genuine parts. Overall trashy experience from service side of things as well.
