Sky - Carillon (Guitar Instrumental played by Chris Hampton)

Here is my version of the instrumental piece "Carillon" which was originally recorded by the English/Australian Rock band Sky for their self titled debut album which was released in 1979. It was written by bass player Herbie Flowers with Ian Gomm and its title refers to a pitched percussion instrument consisting of at least 23 cast bells that are tuned in chromatic order and can be sounded harmoniously together.
I played this using my Fender Stratocaster (Bridge Pickup) with the Zoom G2.1Nu unit (EFTP Patch A9). Recording was done via USB to my home PC with Cubase.
The arrangement and backing track were created by Pete Korving and the backing is available for purchase via his website - www.guitarbacki...
I also used tablature created by yorgos_d via PaidTabs - www.paidtabs.com

Very nice rendition Chris , its a beautiful piece of music, its a classical guitar piece , but my word it sounds good on the electric guitar ,with nice pedal work ,as you have done with your version. I covered this a while back, and added a bit of distortion on the last verse , enjoyed your take on it very much, nice to hear different version of this classic piece., well played , BTU 10...
