Since 2021, the Sky Railway of Santa Fe, New Mexico has been slowly, but surely, growing in popularity as a tourist destination for the Santa Fe area. Originally known as the Santa Fe Southern, and it still bears the SFS reporting marks, this tiny railroad has been treating thousands to a classic train ride with a small twist. George R.R. Martin, the original author of the popular television show, Game of Thrones, purchased the railroad after it had previously gone out of business and had a complete and total revision of the railroad. The motive power and rolling stock were repainted with an unconventional dragon-themed paint scheme for a different aesthetic to attract more tourists. Most railfans aren't the biggest fan of it, however, the tourists love it, and it's been one of Santa Fe's more popular attractions in recent years. I spent a cloudy September day on the railroad getting as many shots as I could since it was my first time chasing. Had a great time with the friendly crew and hope to come back soon!
