I think Danny is at peace. His choice of words seems like he is ready to move on and I know 100% he will be happier and in a better place in no time. He’s had an amazing career and his legacy is solidified.
Damn, the race ended and it's just a flood of farewells from all different media. It would've been an awesome fairy tale if he would have managed to get back to RB. He will probably be looked back quite fondly. I've only watched F1 since 2019 but it did seem like his presence really opened up other drivers to be more themselves and be more joyful in the paddock.
Good luck Ricardo. You were amazing at times when you had a good car. Even today, you fastest fastest lap. More importantly, you were a great human being. god bless you and enjoy your life.

The RB car suited him at that time And boosted his confidence which got him good results It was positive reinforcement Then it became negative reinforcement at McLaren and never fully recovered in a crap AT car

not to take anything away from him but it's not really an achievement lol, anybody could have put on a fresh pair of softs with basically no fuel and got fastest lap - it was still 5 second slower than quali pole..
I've always liked him as a driver and a person. I also understand that if the top teams are not choosing him you can only race for so long for 1 or 2 points race after race. All I can say is hold your head high Mr. Ricciardo you did it the right way. Best of luck in your future.

why would they? he got smashed by Lando at McLaren, he got smashed by Yuki at RB2, if RB wanted to swap Perez with someone from their 2nd team im pretty sure they would go with Yuki or Lawson
I love both Danny Ric & Checo, they both deserve one more chance in F1. Sister teams could have swapped DR to RB & Checo to VCARB, both get their opportunities to prove themselves…win-win situation in the drivers & constructors championship. Hope we don’t lose DR & Checo from F1 & they get a legendary farewell, not this.

IF this is his last race, then Im gonna miss Daniel from Duncraig, . If it is, then RB and Marko have stuffed this up and missed a special PR moment. For one he should have got a proper send off. Imagine they announce pre-race that his last GP will be at Miami. That way he gets the send off he deserves and F1 and Red Bull benefit from his popularity in the US.
why cant they put DR in the red bull and get rid of checo ? i mean , i bet DR will be alot more help for Max and get more constructor points for RB then checo.
judging by his performance these past few years you would just get a Perez 2.0, 1-2 good races and the rest garbage races, getting smashed by his teammates like Lando and Yuki, if they wanted to replace Perez with someone from their 2nd team that would be Yuki 100%
It is NOT official. So he gets "Driver of the day" and does the "Fastest lap" which broke the "Lap Record" and this in a Mercedes or Ferrari or was it "Checos Red Bull" mmmm so my gut feeling tells me something is not right. All drivers I admire and respect for all drivers too,yes even Lance...however why fire someone who has not created as much damage as Checo has done ? Either way both drivers have my respect. Yes Lance too.
Too bad MEXICO is so late in the season or Checo would have been long gone ages ago and Danny could have finished his career/this year back in the Red Bull
I think his language suggests he isn't leaving RB necessarily. My personal bet is split between two options: 1. DR replaces Checo somehow sometime due to his complete bottling of the Constructors Championship (unlikely due to sponsorships) 2. DR is assuming some role within the RB leadership/racing team, perhaps as a mentor or race engineering role. There is of course the third option, that he speaks about here, which is a much needed break. And i think we can all agree that if anyone deserves it, it's him.
I don’t understand RB is not getting any points from Checo in terms of results. Then you gotta try someone else; getting Liam into VCARB and promoting Daniel to RB could work.
No it won't. Checco brings a shit ton of money through sponsors and Danny has been outperformed by Yuki on several occasions if anyone deserves that seat it's Yuki or Maybe Lawson
Going for the last lap to help Max by the sister team is whack and undeserved. The same way Gasly faked a mistake during that night in AbuDhabi it is unmerited advantage for Max
I don't think it is fair Daniel has to leave and not Perez. Ricciardo has done more to help Max win then Perez. Perez is truly terrible and doesn't deserve to be in F1. He is my favorite driver because he seems to be the nicest guy in F1.
Perez literally helped max win in 2021 what are you on about? Yuki deserves the seat far more than your boy. Just because he's a nice guy doesn't mean he automatically gets a top seat again.
