SKYCHURCH played w/ Jason Newsted from Metallica on their early days in the 90s. He really approved this band 👌🏻 The band is originally band of brothers who plays like this (until their elder brother who plays guitar retired to be a doctor). Bassist & drummer are real brothers.
napanood ko yan live sa Boom Na Boom Battle of the Bands, mga 1993 or 1994 yata yun, Electric Sky Church pa sila nun, tatlong mga bata pa lang as in bata na hindi pa yata umaabot sa puberty age, napaka angas at napaka galing talaga nila kaso tinalo sila nung punk rock band na Butterflies and Zebras
They've been in the Philippine Metal Scene since the 90's and they were really young guys, think about 14-17 years old. Their original guitarist is also their brother who already migrated in the US. . And , They definitely did some Sepultura Covers back then.
Coming from a Filipino who also loves this band, here are some suggestions that you guys might like: *Badburn - Kill At Will *Supremo - Kalag Sa Gapos *Church Of The Poisoned Mind - 13th Hour
it's also worth noting that skychurch has been releasing quality material since the mid 90s. they were already really really good and tight especially live. and in the 2000s and 2010s would play huge crowds one night and then play at small bars the next sometimes on the same night. also memebers played for and or formed other respected bands that stood out. intolerant, queso, backbreaker and others. truly a remarkable and important band.
Pantera Sepultura Slayer are some of their influences... nice review/reaction though. I love the part when you guys really wanna know whats gonna happen on the next part of the song before they speed up :)) Actually they are the pioneers of hardcore / metal crossover here in the Philippines. Thanks for exploring Filipino music. Lots of good great bands you should explore.
Sky Church jammed with Jason Newsted of Metallica back in the days when the latter had his Bass Clinic here in the Philippines. Members of the band are all siblings. The guitarist in the video is Joey Dizon who took the guitar chore while the original guitarist and the oldest in the brood is finishing Med School.
listen to their previous albums... 1st: Urge of the Human Device 2nd: Unaware/Unwarned (favorite) you might also like to their live performance of a song “Urge of the Human Device” from the 1st album.
Actually they did play a sepultura cover way back in the 90’s , like us we also got to play a sepultura cover in the same club it was called club dredd in Manila
no skychurch is different they should check S.I.N, End Of Man,Dead Ends,Death by Stereo,Warlock etc. so many filipino underground metal band you should know way way back in the 80s 90s era
Decades ago back in 94, Jason Newstead was able to jam with this band in the philippines they were just barely 15yrs old back then & he was already blown away. That video is still in youtube i guess “jason newstead at club dredd manila” wolfgang etc was there also.
I remember seeing cassette tapes being sold at the music store in early 90's... it didn't have a plastic case, it was wrapped in it's cover sleeve with a dogtag with the SkyChurch logo... they released an album at the wrong time in the Philippines... Pop-Rock was the common theme (Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Wolfgang, Razorback, etc.) Their music was aggressive! Sepultura-ish / Pantera-ish / SLayer-ish in some way... They re-surfaced around the early or late 2000's when Heavy / Groove Metal was in the airwaves (Slapshock, Cheese, etc.)... Good review!
Trashmetal kasi di masyado patok sa atin noon late 90s NU metal kasi na uso tapos grunge kong meron man mga foreign band un like slayer, metallica, sepultura, soulfly anthrax, Megadeth, Pantera
Its Just Their Name... They are the Most Hard Core Band here in Phil Death Metal... and they are Medical Practitioners Believe it or not... Doctors Who Rocks
They form with 3 brothers in the band at young teens age the younges is 13 and releases the 1st album called urge of human device. influence by old school like earth crisi, hatebreed, sick of it all, sepultura, etc etc... long duaration of songs means there is no justice over and over and untill now we still wants fair justice for every1
Mannn i'am speechles you guys are the best the best.. Don't have to listen to what your reacting too because the everything you react too is the best there is.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rIbX667QAHU.html here's for your reference, check it out Bowser's. 👍 they got the best keyboardist in town. 🤣
Just want to let you guys know, this is the first video where i appreciated listening to this kind of music & since the i continued discovering awesome music on your RU-vid CHANL .. If 'there is a double thumbs up i 'd gladly do it thanks for your awesome content! keep it up!
the cool thing here is that i'm filipino and i'm a metalhead, but i haven't heard a lot of these filipino metal bands (well, okay, i stayed abroad anyway), and i'm only discovering them through this channel
Skychurch is one of the longest running underground metal bands in the Philippines! Absolute noise! They have been blasting my ears since I first discovered them. Unaware, unwarned!
I love and like all kinds of music and metal is one of them. They did a very good job! I do wish that they have the lyrics captioned so I know what's going on. The only line that was clear to me was "No one can stop me now"; otherwise, all others were just screams to me LOL. Regardless, this is one facet of musical genre that is not really very popular in the Philippines (my opinion of course). Thanks for your reaction!
You nailed it guys. Skychurch sounded more like Sepultura on the 90s. Particularly Arise and Chaos AD era. Their full name before was “Electric Skychurch” then they drop the word “Electric” for some reason. Awesome reaction guys.🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Electric Skychurch is an electronic or acid trance band based in Los Angeles, California. It was formed in 1991. SkyChurch is a Filipino metal band formed in 1990.
Ooohh the ten thousand club ...will get the pom pom”s out normality restored getting up with you both!...congratulations you are both seemingly very lovely down to earth normal guys which is part of your attraction ...NOW for. 20k....
Just a bit of a trivia, the original trio started out back in the mid-90s. Already heard them around '94-'95 when they were still in their mid-teens (14-16 years old) and they were already this good. The original lineup was composed all three brothers, I think their guitarist had to focus on his medical studies so Joey Dizon came in. And yes they were already covering some Sepultura covers back then...Chaos AD, Arise, Beneath The Remains stuff.
these guys basically started in the 90s, I was in highschool back then, Robert the drummer is a bulldozer!, bassist russell still growls while playing bass after all these years.all members were brothers then guitarist changed, now they have new guitarist jomal linao from a punk rock band kamikazee, he's the lead guitarist there bet he can give you solos your looking for
#SkyChurch is one of the best from my Country Philippines Robert the drummer is one of the best 🤘❤️🤘🇦🇪 Cheers from DUBAI UAE Sepultura is one of their roots.. Check them out they made Propaganda cover!!
This is a solid band, fast riffs, good breakdowns. Usually trio bands are really good. The only thing it's missing ... a guitar solo! I was just waiting for it when you guys hit the pause and say something is gonna happen. Nah it didn't happen! Not a fan of new metal but love the sound of the band overall!!
@@BowsersreactionPit Yeah they have some old school thrash fast riffs and great sound. The whole band is really skillful, and if I can hear more of their music, hope they lay some guitar solos.Unless this song wasn't meant to have one. I stick to the idea of a guitar solo was a most on that paused moment thou
