Hi! Great videos! Skye trail is truly amazing. I'm so jealous is the weather you had. Spectacular views! Interesting way of making using car and buses. Never thought of it. Skipping boggy part was a good idea as everyone is complaining about it. Really good quality and very interesting videos. You give them very positive vibe as well. Your intro is a bit too loud but otherwise great videos. Thanks for sharing and all the best for you.

Thanks Joey! 👍 You're right, Skye is wonderful and I was lucky to have such great weather. I returned to Skye in 2020 and did a wild camp video on the ridge at The Quiraing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yaVuRzLmTHY.html Sorry about the loud intro! Cheers, Justin. 👍

We really enjoyed watching you do this Skye Trail . It really is a beautiful Island we first visited back in Sep 1994 and it was even more peaceful back then. There was no bridge and definatly nowhere open on a Sunday ; ) Thanks for sharing and I hope you manage to get out and about somewhere again soon , take care :D Teddy

Thanks Alan! 👍 ST Day 2 is very demanding over the Trotternish Ridge and I had almost perfect conditions. Prepare well for that. Skye is awe inspiring, you will love it. I will check out GR20. 🤘 Justin.

Yes, like you, I enjoyed the relaxing final day. It was like a deep breath after all the effort of the trail. Thank you for watching the lot. Please do watch the short trailer vid, people seem to love it. I’m checking out your videos now. Wow, you’ve done loads of stuff! 👍 BTW, my C2C was my first thru-hike and my first videos, so they are not the greatest quality. From my WHW onwards I started to improve my camera work and editing. Please bear that in mind! 👋 Justin.

iPhone sucks, android.. the choice of champions! Cracking end to a good year! Looking forward to more in 2020. Maybe Santa will bring you a tent this year so you don't have to do all those B&Bs. It confuses me as well why you don't have more subscribers, hopefully the youtube algorithm's will look favourably on you over the winter. Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks Pete! 👍 I like hostels though! Regarding subs all I can do is ask the good people of the world (like yourself of course) to click like and share as many of my vids as you can with your friends and family. That seems to help. Thanks for all your encouraging comments Pete. I have a few other day walk vids planned over the winter.... 🏔🥾👍🍺

Hey Justin - love the videos but quite jealous; a friend and I started the Skye Trail from the southern end on 5th October. We should have taken Noah's Arc instead of our waterproofs, seriously, the weather was biblical! Almost waist deep in water through Glen Sligachan in places and then couldn't pass the waterfall/river from Sligachan campsite. Then my mate got trench foot. Not good. I'll be back to attempt it again and we still had a great time - hopefully this time with some of the weather you enjoyed! 😁 Take it easy mate and keep up with the videos, really enjoyable 👍🏻 Dan

Thanks Dan, glad you like them! 👍 Sorry to hear about your weather. It definitely worked for me to keep the dates flexible and wait for good weather. The sunrises in particular were just amazing. The Trotternish Ridge is by far the hardest day, really tough. Prepare well for that. Thanks for subscribing and please click like on my vids and share with your friends and family! Let me know when you go to Skye again or if you have any questions! 🏔🥾👍
@danb8662
@danb8662 5 лет назад
@@JustinWhiting9 Yeah, flexibility on when to go is the way to do it - just unfortunately difficult with my work, more often than not just have to take a chance - book my travel tickets and the week off then hope for the best! 😁 I was really disappointed not to do the Trotternish though, it was the part I was most looking forward to. Not to be this time though - and gives me an excuse to get back there as soon as possible (not that I really needed one!! 😂) Nice one Justin, Dan 👍🏻

Yeah, it’s difficult for most people to just go at the drop of a hat. I set myself up in that way for Skye with my fitness, kit, work leave, etc, and it paid off! 👍 I am already planning my return to Skye, wonderful place....

Gosh that was so peaceful. I understand when u say its good for the body and the mind my spirit is always lifted after a good exhausting walk. We're so spoiled in the UK for great scenery, and no bears or spiders.❤

So true Alex. I found when I was younger climbing Lake District hills that I felt just as good if it was an easy hill with no view due to mist. The feeling of being outdoors was so refreshing physically and mentally. Always walked in the hills since. Amazing that so few people share this priceless knowledge. We are spoilt indeed to live in GB! 🤙 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳 Bears and spiders...LOL!󠁿

Lovely Video's you really capture the scenery and atmosphere of where you go, Have done the WHW 5 times even North to South and you brought it all back to me, Thank you for that. Also Pennine way in 13 days when I was a bit fitter than I am now, that was in 1988. Attempted Lands end to John o Groats in stages but only got as far as Bath before my life changed dramatically. I can recommend the SW coast path though. Lots of ups and downs but just as beautiful. Scotland is still my favorite. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your lovely comments Jenny 👍 You’ve had some impressive adventures! It’s one of the best bits about posting vids on RU-vid when people send positive messages. I was really enthralled by Skye, wonderstruck even. It makes me a bit emotional watching the vids back! Anyway, more walks planned for 2020. Please hit the like buttons and subscribe if you haven’t already. Cheers! 😀🥾🏔

I think that was one of my favorite stretches Justin. Looking at it the calm and peace helped to create that evocative mood. It was simply one of them times, which you don't want to end but it must as you said. A fabulous series that - I enjoyed every one and am now going to save the start of another. All the best for the week. Mark

Thanks Mark 👍. I can’t say I was really looking forward to the last day beforehand. It is shorter and less dramatic than the earlier days of the trail. However, I really enjoyed the remote tranquility and it was the perfect way to end my adventure. I was so relaxed all day. 👍🏔🥾

Excellent series Justin . Really enjoyable I watched all of your videos and find them very interesting and soothing . Can’t understand. Myself and some friends also did the coast to coast first half but we made the mistake of going straight up to red pike after Ennerdale YHA . Not a mistake really but hard work to get up there .
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 5 лет назад
Thanks Stuart! I spent a while trying to choose music to match the stunning scenery of Skye and also my mood on trail. I was going for the 'soothing' vibe, so I'm glad you liked them. Yeah, it's really steep from Ennerdale to Red Pike! Well worth it if you have the energy. I know the views are terrific from the High Stile range. Good for you!

Ehi. I know you went the beautiful long way round, but I'm on the bus and can't do that. Torrin sounds beautiful and I can get there and back from Broadford. Any advice??
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 2 года назад
Do you mean you’re taking the bus from Broadford to Torrin and back, and you only have limited time there? If so, you can walk a little way out of the village to the loch shore.
@daftirishmarej1827
@daftirishmarej1827 2 года назад
@@JustinWhiting9 maaaan you're good to your word! No, I'm staying in Broadford for just one night and I fancy walking to Torrin because it's possible within the time frame. In your time there did you by any chance meet someone who'd be willing to lend (I'll pay of course) a bike for an evening?? That way I'd be able to see more. I can see that it's a road instead of a track, so cycling would be good. I'm not looking for anything posh; just 2 wheels that move, and good brakes :-)
@JustinWhiting9
@JustinWhiting9 2 года назад
From memory it’s about 7 miles from B to T, so bike would be good. I hardly saw anybody all week let alone to borrow a bike. Torrin was small and dead, didn’t see a soul. Your best bet is to ask around Broadford for a bike. There are 2 hostels there plus a few shops and guest houses. Maybe someone will help you out. The track out of Torrin and down to the beach on the loch is well worth a visit on foot or wheels. It’s not too far from the road (turning by Hagrid’s house 😉). Surely that’s worth subscribing for?… 😁
