"People who've watched James Bond before. Does this guy appear?" No he doesn't. He was made just for Skyfall, and he's fantastic! That scene where Javier Bardem introduces himself, by descending an elevator, and then walking towards Bond for 2 minutes while he spouts his rhetoric ... ALL without a cut in the editing. It's high art.
That car, the Aston Martin DB5, has a long history with James Bond. It first appeared in 1964's Goldfinger starring the original movie 007, Sean Connery.
That was my first Bond movie, saw it at a drive in movie in Hawaii way back when the earth was young. That car is what I remembered most from the movie.
This movie was the 50th anniversary of Bond, so they threw all the old stuff in it. That's why we finally got Q. But Sean Connery was originally asked to be the groundskeeper but declined, so they got Albert Finney instead.
After Pierce Brosnan left the role, I lost interest in Bond. So I never saw Casino Royale or Quantum of Solice… but I saw Skyfall after it came out of the theater. So it was the very first Daniel Craig Bond movie I ever saw
I was VERY intrigued that they were remaking *Casino Royale* , so I saw it. I was THRILLED. I had read the original novels, and Daniel Craig’s Bond was even closer to the literary 007 than was anyone else. Although Connery will always have a special place in my heart as the first cinematic Bond, Daniel Craig has embodied the character perfectly.
I can't believe I ever doubted Daniel Craig after he replaced Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. One could say I was shaken by it...but not stirred. Brilliant. 🍸
Casino Royal is considered the greatest 007 film ever made but To me it's definitely a toss up between GoldFinger , GoldenEye & Skyfall & they all have amazing intro theme songs especially Skyfall but I love all the 007 film for they're own reasons except for Diamonds Are Forever , that one was horrible
11:40 this scorpion was CGI, so imagine how funny it was filming this, just a bunch of guys cheering with anticipation as Bond slowly drinks out of a glass.
Trixy, this Bond film really starts to re-introduce many of the famous legacy characters from Franchise origins. Characters are updated, such as Q, Moneypenny, and M (and the silver Aston Martin car!). We now have a "new breed" for those classic characters that you will meet when you go back to the very beginning, in 1962, with the legendary "Dr. No"! We love Bond and all his co-characters!
Judi Dench has played M since the first Pierce Brosnan James Bond movie, GoldenEye released in 1995. While the character has been played by several actors since the 60s, she’s the first woman to play the part. The office with the padded door and having a secretary named Moneypenny is a reference to earlier portrayals of M. Bond and Monneypenny always had a very flirtatious relationship on screen, this is a neat way of laying the groundwork for it. Btw, if you want to see the first appearance of the iconic Aston Martin DB5, James Bond’s signature car, check out Goldfinger, Sean Connery’s third Bond move, released back in 1964… also those are the only two Bond movie titles to feature a golden body part, though there is another called The Man with the Golden Gun… which is not a sexual reference. He literally has a handgun that is made of gold.
Skyfall is such an intense bond movie. Sam Mendes knocked it out of the park. ------ He was able to capture the intrigue, the sex, the seduction, the intensity, the anger, the Sophistication of the Bond franchise. ------ Daniel craig started off as not what we envisioned Bond to be, but I think making him more clever and daring as as top knotch spy has made his impact more memorable. ----- Since he's not the protoypical superhero type. Goldfinnnnnnnger!!! oh wait that is a differnt Bond song. Skyyyyyyyyfalll!!!!!. Yes Adele you delivered without fail.
When Trixy will be done with the Daniel Craig era I think it would be nice if she reacts to older james bond but not all of them since they are too many of them and they arent't all good flicks so a made a little selection if you agree : -From Russia with love -Goldfinger -On her majesty's secret service -Live and let die (maybe ?) -The spy who loved me -For your eyes only -the living daylights -Licence to kill -Goldeneye -Tomorrow never dies -The world is not enough
This was the first Daniel Craig Bond I ever saw. I skipped Casino Royale and Quantum of Solice, because after Pierce Brosnan left the role I lost interest
51:48 To each their own, you're going to see all kinds of Bond Actor/ movie preferences in the fanbase. I don't know if this has been brought up before, but all the tension with Moneypenny is a theme throughout the other movies, Bond flirts with her all the time, but nothing ever happens. She doesn't let his charm work on her
We are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are. One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will. To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield.
Perhaps the greatest title song ever: Adele crushed it. As always for Bond films, another great cast: special kudos for Javier Bardem; Oscar worthy performance. Overall a top Bond movie. Of course Judi Dench wasn’t always M. Her first appearance as M was 1995’s Golden Eye
I'm always surprised people like that title song. It's so dreary (and it won an Oscar, so the themes for the next two Bond movies were also dreary). Dour, mopey songs doesn't put in the mood for car chases. When are the themes going to be fun again, like Live and Let Die or The Living Daylights?
The Aston Martin was the first 007 Car I ever saw in a Bond Movie :( Has some special memories. I even had the toy model with the machine guns, Ejector seat (with villains) extending tyre rippers and rear pop up bullet proof shield. So sad to see it die
As you're watching Skyfall which commemorated 50 years of Bond at the time, you should watch all the classics from the first one Dr No, to Pierce Brosnan's Die Another Day, which was the last Bond film before Daniel Craig took over and did Casino Royale
Hey Blue, since you loved the villian in this flick so much. You must check out Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men" he's character performance in that movie was legendary.
This film is in my opinion the BEST of the Craig films as it was the best Bond film since Goldeneye which was Peirce Brosnan's, First Bond. It felt like classic James Bond. Judy Dench is not actually the first M she was the 3rd in the original series of films she was the Last of the old series of films. Q and Monney Penny are also main reoccurring Characters in the old films, in the original films Q is played by the same guy from the 60s all the way to 1999's The World is not Enough, in The World is not Enough Q has an assistant called R who took over the Q role in 2002s Die Another Day which was Peirce Brosnan's last Bond film and was the film before Casino Royal. Money Penny has been played by 4 different actresses The original actress stayed the same from the 60's to the early 80's and starred opposite the first 3 Bonds, Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore. When Roger more retired the role Money Penny was recast as she would have been to old for the role opposite New 80's Bond Timothy Dalton she lasted all of Daltons' 2 films and then a New Monmy Penny was cast for the 90's Brosnan era. The Character of Felix Lighter who is the CIA Agent in Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace has been played buy 7 different actors in the series. And YES the Asyon Martins Ejector Seat is used in the original films I wont spoil as of when and what film that happens in as I want to see you react to the whole series!
Judi Dench was only M for the last 2 Bond's (Bronson & Craig) for a total of 7 movies. She played a much bigger role in the Craig movies. Prior to the Craig movies M, Q & Moneypenny weren't much of characters....they would just show up to give Bond his mission, give him some gadgets (an exploding pen being one of them), and never be seen in the movie again. The older Bond movies were extremely formulaic in that way. Almost like entirely stand-alone movies without too much connections to the previous ones. That's why I really appreciate the Craig movies. They give the secondary characters much more to do and it feels like Bond has an actual "team" backing him up from London.
Iconic Car: The classic 1964 Aston Martin DB5 - modified with the "extras" , Iconic Weapon of Choice: Walther PPK Iconic Drink of Choice: Martini (shaken not stirred) Iconic Uniform: formal Black suit attire Iconic Designation: MI6 Agent 007, where the "00" is representative of having the "License to Kill". Iconic Name: James Bond Iconic Greeting: "Bond, James Bond." Iconic Theme: The "James Bond Theme" is the main signature theme music of the James Bond films and has featured in every Eon Productions Bond film since Dr. No, released in 1962. Composed in e minor by Monty Norman (with arrangements for film provided by John Barry), the piece has been used as an accompanying fanfare to the gun barrel sequence in every Eon Bond film besides the 2006 reboot Casino Royale (played fully, instead, at the end of that film). (ref Wikipedia ~ "James Bond Theme" search)
I remember seeing this in cinema on my first date with my girlfriend and we both loved it and we have watched every single 007 film since skyfall in cinema and me and my girlfriend are still together and we watched no time to die in cinema and after that we got engaged happy times
It was a Crocodile farm. & Crocodiles are not as dumb as people may think, watch the footage again & you can see the last Crocodile in the row realized what was going on & had his mouth open before the stuntman got there. (Stuntman is owner of the farm, inherited from his father, who was eaten by a Crocodile at the farm.)
Dame Judy Dench has been M since the Pierce Brosnan era but not since beginning. But she was iconic and you should see some of the old Connery ones to get some of the skyfall jokes but watched Brosnan or Dalton or even Moore is a lot fun! I hope you enjoy the series regardless of which ones you watch
I sometimes wonder how sad it must have been for Dame Judi Dench when she filmed her final scenes and said farewell to the M character after having played her since _GoldenEye_ (1995). I remember reading in a book how sad William Shatner was when he said goodbye to playing Captain (later Admiral) Kirk after _Star Trek: Generations_ (1994) and wonder whether what happens to Dench's character in this affected the actress in a similar way.
Blue: Shaving a man has got to be the most intimate experience you can have with them. Me: I can think of others... Love the reaction, glad so many are discovering the Bond franchise.
Ur favorite word should be," Inconceivable!" Princess Bride!! Yes, ice baths are excellent for ur health, yes, the Aston Martin has been in bond movies since the beginning!!😮😮😮😮. She is the second longest M, and I almost don't watch u to watch the next one! 😢😢😢
Hello from France Usually i already love the vialiais when they are charismatics, clevers, bad ass but this one, oh my god he is awsome. My favorite of the franchise. Javier Bardem stole the show and Raoul Silva starring the show to James Bond. It's like Darth Vador in Star Wars, Negan in TWD, Hans Gruber from Die Hard, Colonel Stuart from Die Harder, Colonel Miles Quarrich from Avatar or Scar from The lion king. A good story need a good villain and sometimes the bests vilains are thin who think what they did is right. The villain from Goldeneye or Licence to kill are very good too). It's strange in this movie the bond girl is M. Monnepeny was before the secretary of M. The last time we saw her was in Die another day. She's back in this movie.
The exploding pen is from GOLDENEYE (1995), the first Pearce Brosnan-Bond, with Desmond Llewellyn as Q, who played the role for almost 40 years(!) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-15RZEbeGxTY.html
3:56 - "Obscure country that no one has ever heard of".................. Istanbul.... Turkey...... one of the crossroads of civilization since 330AD. Yeah, "obscure".
If you like cyberpunk you should watch strange days it stars the guy who replaces M in this movie, Ralph Fiennes back when he was young and handsome😂 it’s also a great film
Ok, this is probably one of your best reacts. Now I'm so excited about my fav 'Spectre' 🤤 (the same director, screenwritters etc.) And no, Silva (Bardem) wasn't in the old movies, but Moneypenny, Aston Martin and exploding pens were.
Naoemi Harris (Miss Moneypenny in James Bond films) performance in Pirates of the Caribbean as the voodoo witch Tia Dalma (and sea goddess Calypso) was outsanding.
Trix... if you are going to have a drink watching Bond, his signature tipple is and has to be a Matini shaken not stirred. Google it if you want the precise mix!
Craig is my all time favorite Bond. It'll be difficult to top him. "Skyfall" is my favorite Craig's Bond movie. I've got unpopular opinions on the Craig Bond ranking, here goes mine: 1- Skyfall 2- Casino Royale 3- Spectre 4- No time to die 5- Quantum of solace. Oh, and that's Eva Green in Casino Royale, not Olivia Cooke from "House of the dragon". Olivia is too young, she must have been a teenager when Casino Royale was made 😁
I wonder if you knew who played the new M. Ralph Fiennes also played Voldemort? in the Harry Potters movies. Judi Durech came on as M with Pierce Bronson as Bond.
Skyfall is def The Second best movie of Daniel Craig while Spectre beign The best 1 btw great reaction video Trixy Blue keep it up with The amazing work 😊
Sadly, Craig has said he's done being James Bond after the most recent film so they'll be recasting the role again. The talk is that anyone from Richard Madden to Henry Cavill to Idris Elba may be considered for the next Bond. What I'm wondering is will they totally reboot the franchise again, like with Craig where they showed how he was actually promoted to 00 status or will it be like the older ones that were only loosely connected to one another and each film was almost independent of the others. But you are totally right here! Action movies are really as good as their villains, and this guy was full blown nuttier than squirrel poo and a charismatic genius on top of it. BTW, the lizards in the club were komodo dragons. Very dangerous with venomous bites and a drive that makes them hunt their prey (anything is prey to these guys) over massive distances.
Yes, the exploding pen remark was a small dig at the pre-Daniel Craig Bond movies, which became bogged down with their emphasis on silly gadgets and absurd tech before Casino Royale rebooted the franchise and stripped away those far-fetched elements.
Trixy, I hope you will watch the earlier Bond movies, starting with Sean Connery and continuing with Roger Moore, timothy Dalton, George Lazenby, and pierce Brosnan. I'm sure you will find them lighter and just as entertaining. The Daniel Craig Bond films are too heavy and always too serious, but I'm happy to see u like them.
@@andrewfountaine4870 yeah, i like the lighter ones. daniel craig's are just too serious for me . I've been watching other bond reactions on popcorn in bed and jen murray.i've decided to get all the bond films except for daniel craig's, so that rules out box sets.
Take the Bloody Shot! - & If one shot goes through Bond & kills the bad guy, killing both. MI-6 & M would consider the mission a success. They stopped the release of the data & that was the mission.
