Lay back and relax. Enjoy the biomes of Skyrim as we compare the newest version of Skyland Landscapes to Vanilla textures. Enjoy the soothing sounds of nature while taking an upclose peek at the landscapes of Skyrim.
I kept all things even. Same lighting, weather, enb, flora...all mods the same. Even time of day and weather type is the same. All I changed was turning Skyland AIO on/off. Pretty even comparison.

Skyland has over time made a pretty close to vanilla but also unique feel of its own and combined they look VERY cohesive. Perhaps a smoother visual and a little less busy from a distance which is probably up to personal taste. Also the color palette being a bit more cool/subdued I would say. I'm really enjoying the crazy amount of work you've put out this year and Ive been able to replace a fair portion of older mods already.

What a soothing way to show off the textures. Appreciate the link in description! Love your mods! Doing that comparison video helped seal it. Noble, if it was modernized with photogrammetry updates, has an excellent color aesthetic to it and would be amazing. But, the age of the textures shows. The overall vision of Skyland nails it all. It has a look and style, and the quality of the textures pulls it all together. I love how things just blend so well together.

Showing the various different biomes Skyland covers (all of them) in Skyrim. For fun, I thought I'd compare it to vanilla textures. As it stands, vanilla isn't that bad with good lighting, weather, and an enb. Yet, alas Skyland does make the landsapes nicer. But that's my story, and I'm sticking too it. What do you think? Thank you for all that hard work ! The scale and the cohesiveness of your work is really stunning. I love to pick and chose a lot of different retexture mods for my game but for my next playthrough I'll be using Skyland AIO and leave it "breathe" - almost not overwriting it - cause I really want to experience that harmony altogether. On a side note, I really appreciate your approach regarding textures' sizes, this whole over-the-top-8k-everything trend is stupid and "clickbaity" imo. Cheers !

Maybe it’s just me but the bridge texture in Riverwood looks kinda weird with the big stones next to all the much smaller ones. Nonetheless great work overall!

Vanilla has great looking normal maps. Their diffuses suffer though. Smaller objects also are pretty bad, but landscape wise, vanilla has nice normals.

Is the creation club version updated? I been having issues with mod organizers and your texture pack is the best one on there but I’d pay you to put some more of your mods on creation club lol we needd them

What stands out the most in this video showcase was is how mistaken so many people are, in my view, to say that Skyland is merely a vanilla + retexture. It’s far superior to vanilla, and, after using a few others lately for my own comparisons, it is the best available for Xbox, probably for PC. I know that’s subjective and very much a matter of personal taste, but I recommend Skyland’s textures over all of the ones I have seen. They are of premium quality when compared to some others floating around out there. Thanks for your work, Skyking!

So Skyland doesn't necessarily "improve" the levels of detail or the close up textures, it just changes them and gives them a new look, right?

Im tempted to install this but i finally got my INI settings just right and got rid of z fighting on mountains, id hate to install textures and get Z fighting again

Your ini files don't care what textures you have installed. Also running dyndolod (if you're on PC) helps. If not, there are LOD mods for xbox.
