Hey man, just giving you an editing tip: when you say the name of something, put a picture of it. Especially when your talking about how much you love the design of it, it means nothing if I, the viewer, can’t see it. I like your videos, and I think going all the way with pictures and whatnot goes a long way with making them great
Man, these videos would be great if I knew what all of these Skylanders I’ve never heard of look like by name instead of just being told their names over level footage. No offense, but I do feel that more proper visualization would dramatically improve the quality of these videos. Also, major props for using Wii Party music on the endcard. I love that game.
My first variant is actually very recent and it's still my only variant being Legendary Bash. I found his figure for like, 6 bucks and that was a pretty good deal.
I went to a local game store and I found Ro Bow for LEGIT $4. There was a deal where you get 5 for $20 and I got some light core figures and Ro Bow himself. And absolute steal
The favorites I know I have are Gold Skeleton sword guy from trap team, yellow fire dog, gold and blue stealth elf from Swap Force, Black Eruptor from 3ds, and probably someone else Lee I have a lot of skylanders but not a lot of variants, but in the end a lot of the variants are really cool (also I don’t know if this counts but I have the purple Broccoli Guy from trap team)
My first variant was one of my earliest skylanders. Being Legendary Bouncer, it was like 6+ years ago from cex. I didn't even get a regular bouncer until last year.
Lowkey imagine how cool it would have been if every game past swap force had their own theme for the bigger packs instead of just dark editions. Maybe like runic or light variants? Idk a black base with a silver layer of paint is easy to produce so who am I to criticize.
My first Variants were also my first Skylanders, they were Legendary Free Ranger and Gnarly Tree Rex. I also got Lightcore Star Strike. Those were my first 3 skylanders, I got them at Toys R US before I even had Swap-force
There was a used video game store where I lived when I first started Skylanders with Trap Team, which where I got a lot of the figure from past generations, some of which were variants! I had Legendary Trigger Happy as well, plus Pumpkin Head Eye Brawl and Jade Fire Kraken, but I lost all of them on sleepover with an old friend of mine, along with Boomer, Hoot Loop, and Free Ranger. :( The only variants I have today are Big Birthday Bash Pop Fizz and the Nitro Stealth Stinger.
My first variant was quickdraw rattleshake. He was also the first skylander I bought aside from the swap force starter pack. I still remember getting the stater pack in Target one day in 2014, and then going to toys r us a few days later and picking QuickDraw rattleshake because I was 7 and obsessed with snakes and glow in the dark stuff. Props to anyone who read all that
I only have like 3 variants which were like this boat thing for super chargers that had a colour change for a charity raising money for cancer research, a variant of the skeleton guy who plays music also from super chargers and a legendary eruptor from trap team or swap force I think that I got because smiths toys was doing some kind of special offer where they gave you goody bags if you bought something for skylanders
My first variant was the basketbrawl. I got it at a local family run gamestore and I was so disappointed that I shoved him in my closet and didn’t look at him for about a year.
As someone who has already reached adulthood several years before Spyro’s Adventure ever came out, I NEVER liked the chase variants. I always went for the in game variants. I’m not a collector. I’m just some random woman who actually enjoys playing Skylanders. The only variant I have where I guess you COULD classify it as a chase variant is the Platinum Treasure Chest. My 3 favorite variants that I own are Series 1 Dark Spyro, Series 3 Dark Mega Ram Spyro, and Legendary Spyro. Why Spyro you may ask? Because I grew up with Spyro’s games on the PlayStation 1 and Spyro is my all time favorite video game character. I’ve been playing them since his first game came out back in 1998. I wish they made a Dark Cynder. 😢 I really wanted Series 1 Dark Spyro to be my first ever variant, but instead of picking up the 3DS version of Spyro’s Adventure, my sister picked up the 3DS version of Giants for me, so my first ever variant was Punch Pop Fizz.
I'm pretty sure that my first Variant was Legendary Zoo Lou. I just remember seeing him and thinking he looked cool. Then I realized he looked different from the box art and his name was Legendary Zoo Lou, not just Zoo Lou. I don't use him, but it holds a special place in my heart.
Here's one thing that is kind of funny so almost all of my SWAP Force characters are variants I have Jade firecracking enchanted hoot loop and legendary night shift
My first variant was legendary lightcore chill but the first one i went out of my way to buy was Pumpkin head eye brawl. There was much disappointment with him
I started skylanders with trap team but I didn't get the starter pack, I got the portal, the water and life traps, and legendary zooloo, winterfest lobstar, and food fight, so 2 of my first skylanders are variants, I am glad those were my first skylanders
Idk if this was mentioned but one Skylander that isn’t rare but more so “limited” was Solar Flare Aurora which is apparently a 2016 or 2017 Black Friday exclusive
They did in fact show the differences IF it were a chase variant the Icon and Card would be the normal skylander while the Ingame Variant did have a recolored icon and card (not superchargers and imaginators with cards since they were removed in superchargers)
The very first variant skylander that I got was punch pop fizz(red) and my first very legendary spyro and the only legendaryI jave and I also have a green ish bronze shroomboom and in my personal opinion I love the ones that show up in the game
The SSA Legendary variants had stat bonuses too. Those were reduced in the Giants variants, and gone by Swap Force. I agree the variants tfat don't appear different in-game are disappointing (but are still collectable). And don't forget the Nitros ! In Swap Force that's Nitro Magna Charge and Nitro Freeze Blade -- but also Nitro Magna Blade and Nitro Freeze Charge when swapped !
I once, during the time Swap Force has been released, buyed a Green Chop Chop in Toys'R'us for the same price, a regular figure had cost and wondered, why he didn't look the same ingame. I am just now learning that chased variants are a thing... :/
I allways thought it was some (cool looking, but) weird fake Skylander someone mixed in their stock for some reason, and that they just didn't know was fake, but now I'm kinda glad, that I still own this figure.
Dark spyro's and jingle Bell chompy mage is awesome just because I don't have regular chompy mage why does your least favorite character have a Halloween a variant that is so awesome and at the end used Wii party music which I always loved playing that game.
I got 5 Sensei's the other day and 3/5 ended up being variants, I got the Easter flare wolf, christmas chompy mage, and steel plated Hoodsickle, mysticat, and Pain-Yatta, all 5 for 20 bucks
I would like to wonder: what about Instant Spitfire? I mean the one where you put the trap team portal in the superchargers game As far as i know, you need some' dlc' or something to get the other instants, having spitfire being free. So would it be count as a variant despite that its only an in game playable Easter egg?
