In this video, I use mods to buy other people's property in Skyrim's great city of Whiterun and aim to become the ultimate real estate tycoon. But climbing the ladder of financial power in the big city is a dangerous game. Will Gjeoffriehy ascend to the greatest heights, or will he crumble under the weight of his own financial burdens?
In my last video, "I Turned Skyrim into a Farming Simulator," Gjeoffriehy became a prosperous farmer. Now, he's expanding his economic influence and investing in the Whiterun housing market.
The core mod used is RE Real Estate Continued, which is available at the Nexus link listed below. I was surprised by how much depth there is to how your choices with this mod affect people's opinion of you, which became the real focus of this playthrough in the latter half of the video. Biggest disappointment with this mod is there's purchasable mines for every ore type except moonstone. Really irks me that there's just one missing even though there's a moonstone ore mine.

Imagine a mod like this but it adds renter complaints and random events like irl and you have to fix it or else their hapiness goes down, and if their happiness is low enough they move out. (That would make it so realistically you can't have this many properties without a lot of issues arising every day)

Isn't that basically how the settlements work in Fallout 4? Don't they start leaving if they're unhappy? After a while if I have a ton of settlements they are near impossible to keep happy I just give up on them and concentrate on the few that I care about.

@@jrichards2542just turn the settlement tower off at like 5 people for most bases and then only let your favorites keep expanding, you'll still need to help the small settlements out every once in a while but if they have enough food water and defense their happiness won't go down or up 😁

I think it's pretty realistic that the Landlord doesn't give a crap about their tenant's happiness. Quantity > Quality, after all. No need to worry about keeping regular-but-low-paying tenants when the housing market's so screwed in your favor that people's desperation makes it so you're guaranteed a newer, king's ransom-paying tenant the next day!

just been watching a few Skyrim videos and by chance the last two have been yours, this one and the last were combined (previous being the farmer mod) and as i loved the last one so must I was overjoyed to realise that and muttered "fucking love this guy". Catching myself doing so, I subscribed instantly. Keep up the great videos pal. Hey Blue, love your content! I have a couple of challenges/ideas for you based on things I want to do in Skyrim, except that I'm playing the unmoddable buggy release on my Switch. 1. I have always wanted to adopt all of the orphans, because I am the sort of person who can't be allowed in animal shelters because they'll try to adopt all the animals. I figure, I have all of these houses, they all have adult supervision (housecarl/steward), so why the heck can't I adopt all the kids?! 2. I always end up with ridiculous amounts of money in Skyrim, but I am the sort of person who would become a philanthropist if I won the lottery, so I would love to see you find mods that allow you to spread the wealth around, if they exist.

(with Lc build your own noble house!) theres another mod that might be fun, cant remember the name, it lets you get into a new whiterun hold, where you can climb your way to the top and be the leader of the hold. is it me or the ai voice got way better these past 2 videos?

I have a suggestion. Try and find out if there is a...TAX mod. As a Thane of many holds, your protagonist may be high enough ranking nobleman/official to get his basic income from taxes (in addition to those business profits you already get).
