Skyrim Mods: People Are Strangers & Address Unknown 

Stranger: Do you visit the cloud disctrict very often? Player: Ah, you must be Nazeem....

We need a mod which stops all NPCs from staring at you. Its kinda creepy when you visit a tavern for a quiet drink and everyone just stares at you!

Finally! I've been waiting for a mod like this.

This is really nice. These address some of those small things I've wondered while playing Skyrim like, "hmm wouldn't it be too revealing if all the names are shown?"

Love these mods, played with them over the course of a few new games. Still gives me the feeling of immersion. Couldn't uninstall, I see no point in not keeping them.

This is neat! I've been following Skyrim mods for quite a while now even though I don't own the game. I think I'll use these when I finally get a pc that can run Skyrim.

i played skyrim since its release back in 2011 and i still think that "People are Strangers" is a great mod. might not have made a big difference in knowing their names but really made the game more immersive in a way that my _character_ had to get to know people

I love People Are Strangers. I have been using for a month, I got the version that doesn't display the word stranger or the chat button either (because I know they are strangers and I know how to chat with them). A mod Brodual forgot to mention is IActivate, which is similar but for objects. www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58510/?. These types of mods really add to immersion.

This mod would be great if I didn't already play the game so many times that I know everyone's name and addresses. I wish they had this at launch.

This is an excellent idea.

i got a better idea : when you see stranger and you talk with him there is "who are you?" and he say his name and then there is not stranger but his name :) ( bad english )

I agree about having the locations improved a bit, but overall, I love the idea behind these!

I wish the second mod would at least say "house" or "door" or something, I use mods to remove the "open" and the button press prompt, so literally nothing will appear when I look at a door. o_o

Finally, a mod that makes it so you have to learn an npc's name, it always seemed a bit weird to me how your character just automatically knew who someone was despite never meeting them before.

This is pretty cool considering this system was part of Arena and Daggerfall. When you play either game, you needed to ask NPCs about locations like homes.

Great idea I thought about once, but it should add a line of text that makes you ask about them to learn there name.

I really like Brodual's ENB. MMOxR's ENBs are too bright and colorful.

The Oblivion version of the strangers mod was fun to play with.

The idea of People Are Strangers is something that I want to implement if I ever make a game with a lot of NPCs. I hate the idea of knowing who's a "Bandit" and who you're looking for without going around and asking for them specifically. You should be asked to use a bit of deduction, and based on context, it will update. It would be especially useful for a game like Elder Scrolls, as situations in Skyrim (random events such as looters looking for a fight) would be uncertain rather than outright baltant. It's part of making the process of knowing the world part of the game. Old JRPGs wouldn't tell you a name of a character until you spoke to them, and that made the tactic of memorization changed around a bit. So yeah, like the idea, but the implementation needs to be context sensitive to be worthwhile.

Interesting. Thanks for showing these. I'd never heard of "Address Unknown." I agree that it would be nice if the player had the option to have the building's name revert back to its proper (known) name after visiting. Or - better yet- have an MCM option where the player could make it so that they had to visit the building a certain number of times to have the player character "remember" its name.

This is a nice little mod. I always joke about how the npcs would introduce themselves to me and I'd just be like "Dude I know who you are, it says your name when I look at you." :P I like this and will probably end up using it at some point.

Oh yes, that's very immersive. In real life, I also magically know the person's name the second I speak to them.

Do you guys only use the ENB files from the v113 ENB? No other preset files or other visual mods, like CoT or RLO?

This is useful to strangers to the game, not for most of us who played this game for 100 or more times. I hardly see anyone that only started Skyrim, so this mod might no be useful at all.

Iv played this game so much that it wont matter. Besides to new players this might be annoying as hell I bet you would get lost a lot.
