Skyrim is a Bad Game (it kind of sucks lol)

I do still like the mods for Skyrim, especially when it comes to character customization, so even if I don't play the game like that, i'll still play around with that. Anyway, continue below. Some more things I don't like about Skyrim: 1. The random dragon encounters, I understand the world is under attack but these dragon encounters are more of a nuisance than an actual threat. 2. I don't really have any effect on the world. There wasn't much that I did that actually seemed to mean anything. 3. All the NPCs are unmemorable and lame. J'zargo was cool as a companion but I don't remember or care about anyone else. To elaborate: I'm sure the game is enjoyable for other people, that's why people play it. I was mostly being a little bit over the top, but I do stand by the things I said in this video. Don't kill me :D Also, when I went on about the community making unofficial patches, I was just poking fun, I'm glad they fix these things for people but it sucks that Bethesda is just using them...

Skyrim with mods is like a decorated turd, but turd will always be a turd, nothing will change that, with mods or no mods skyrim sucks anyway.

I agree with you completely, I simply just cannot play without mods. Even with mods I’m still board af with mods installed because there cosmetic and doesn’t do anything to alter the story, luckily there is a mod for that on they way however the facts still remain. Great video!

I finished Morrowind, i finished Oblivion even though i hated going through a damn gate. I never finished Skyrim, it was so boring that i couldn't continue with it. And as a Swede, hearing the "northern accents" from the NPCs, it was cringy as fuck, almost insulting even. The storyline was crap, the factions were crap, and honestly i'm not sure i even got halfway through the game before i quit. But the damn mods, a game should not be supported by its own community in the way that Skyrim was.

Skyrim is dogshit and the developers might be the most uncreative people on the planet. They had so many opportunities with this game and they didn't take any of them. Let's start with the main quest. Nobody cares about the main quest. Nobody cares about dragons, because it is BORING. You could remove the entire main quest and most people wouldn't notice. Do you feel like the Dragonborn? No, because most of the "rewards" are dogshit shouts that are not fun or good. A few NPC's mention that you are the Dragonborn, that is it, despite being this legendary figure. There are ZERO consequences to any of your actions. Kill Alduin? Cool, you get a trash power that summons a few heroes. That is it. Dragons still spawn, most of which are harder than Alduin in the first place, who is supposed to be a world-eater. Did you know there is a massive civil war that is meant to be tearing Skyrim apart? No? Because you literally can't tell. The worldbuilding is horrible. No random encounters of Stormcloaks and Imperials fighting, and the Civil War quest line gets a tiny little mention in the misc. section of quests. "Oh, by the way you can fight a civil war, tee-hee." When you do this civil war quest, no matter which side hardly anything changes. The guards get different armor and a few Jarls change, that is it. The quest itself sucks. You take a few castles and a few towns and that is it. The enemies are terrible, you can instakill them on the hardest difficulty. It also doesn't feel like actually battles, more like you vs. 20 guards who are supposed to be the garrison for the biggest city in Skyrim. It was a completely shoehorned in questline which either shouldn't have been there in the first place or should have been the main focus of the game. It doesn't matter whether you choose Stormcloak or Imperial, the only difference is the outfits of the guards. Speaking of which, Bethesda could have made the civil war the main focus of Skyrim and it would have been a far better game. Just get rid of the dragons. They are all the same enemy anyways, and they have trash AI and flight mechanics. It also would have direct implications on the map and the player would feel like PART of the game, but not the driving factor. (HOW RPG GAMES SHOULD BE!) Being restricted from half the map for being a Stormcloak or vice versa would be far more interesting and offer restricted areas, giving the game depth and something to work towards. It drives the story. Want to do a quest in Solitude? Well, you have to conquer the city first. Bethesda spent so long implementing a main questline with dragons yet it stands to be the most uninteresting and boring part of the game. There are no choices in Skyrim. It is a game for babies. Go here, do this, you get zero choice anyway. There is even a quest in Markarth which seems to give you a choice, the one in the silver mine with the Forsworn, but it turns out you only have one choice anyway and that is siding with the Forsworn. There are no implications for this quest. The player is not hunted down by the Markarth guards for rebellion. You walk away with a cool set of armor and never think about the quest again. Okay, so we've established that the story is one-dimensional and lacks depth, therefore boring. Onto the combat, which is also one dimensional and lacks depth. The bows are slow and clunky. They don't have any skill to them: aiming at the head does no more damage. The only mechanic with bows other than shooting people is stealth shooting people. Swords, axes, maces, daggers, THEY ALL WORK THE SAME. You whale at somebody for 10 minutes until they die. There is no skill to any combat mechanic in Skyrim; it is just whaling on enemies with what feels like a pool noodle until they ragdoll. Magic is largely the same. There are no cool spells, except for levitating objects, which sucks. Speaking of skills, there are no interesting perks. Not one. They either adjust stats or let you smith different stuff. I guess stealth roll is probably the most interesting perk in the game, because it actually transforms a mechanic. Overall, Skyrim is a trash game of wasted opportunities. The combat is one-dimensional, the story is one-dimensional, the skills are all the same (boring). Not sure how this game is so popular; maybe the Elder Scrolls tag.

Even with mods, its the same sorry story, same sorry dungeons, same sorry lack of player choice meaning. It sucks. Alot of potential, but very poor execution. It just gets boring.

Yeah thats why oblivion is better. The quests in that game were probably the best quests ive ever experienced. Story in oblivion is also better. I love skyrim but i cant help but to agree with you.

The best description of Skyrim is that it's a mile wide and an inch deep. Anyone who thinks there's lore is just learning pointless facts that don't actually tie into any greater message. The lore is basically junk food, plentiful, cheap, and not really serving any greater purpose.

RPGs in general are getting boring. It's more about grinding the game and leveling up, then actually being skillful in combat.

It is bad, i had a critical npc not opening a door glitch in main quest and i uninstalled reinstall (bug remained)uninstall and deleted it. Unplayable , creatively bankrupt game.

I have made at least five different characters in skyrim all with out any mods. I think the fact I was quite young when I first played it made it a lot less boring then it seems to be for you. I think what made me love the game was when I got to the dwarven ruins.

I am mid 50s and it is rare to have adult-themed games, witcher 3 RDR2 are mild exceptions to the rule. Originally got the game in 2016 and got caught up in the side quests and never even started the main quest. Recently being bored I downloaded it again to my xbox one s that I brought second hand and great that they have mods. The game is soo much better with them, but now after three days I am bored stupid. Fetch, fetch and fetch again. Top tip, do not marry a modded follower and then remove that mod, even if you instal the mod again she is no longer your wife, but the game thinks she is lol. How can you divorce in Skyrim and why are you not allowed to have multiple wives? RDR2 failed with ladies of the night, witcher 3 better, skyrim non-existant. I am so tired of games and movies that allow as much blood and gore as possible, but I can not chill out in a pub and hoe house. There are many games that are fun to play for a while, but when is an adult open world game going to arrive? By the time star trek style holodecks arrive I would have been planted in the ground. If you are young reading this you do not understand that in most peoples lives you end up just do the same thing everyday a real life fetch quest. I need to escape in a truly free game.

bethesda game was always boring, the combat, the story, the level, the Enemies, the weapon balance, everthing was kinda mid since they start developing games, it was known for its openworld design, and probably nothing else

Thank you because I started play Skyrim And thought it was do boring like out of all the games I played Skyrim was just so boring and literally made me fall asleep but games like the Witcher 3 I love it I thought maybe since I didn't give it yk no where near a full play through that's why but good to see I'm not the only who thinks this I keep hearing it's a good game I don't see it now dragons dogma and the Witcher 3 are great games I might give Skyrim another chance and see if my opinion change

First person view is not good for RPG, I never liked it and even with mods it's sucks. Because it's bland, repetitive and only exploration doesn't give me strength to play this shit

Hope you liked Oblivion, way better than Skyrim. The big problem with Skyrim is that the game goes out of its way to prevent the player from finding a motivation or reason to care about the game in the name of "player freedom" they want the player to figure out for themselves a good reason to care or invest yourself into the game. Literally the exact opposite of every other game ever made. All games: Reason to get invested in the game>Play the game because you're invested. Skyrim: Play the game to find something to get invested in>use that motivation to continue playing the game. Literally flipped game logic on its head. It's why I never got invested into this game, and I really tried. The game just tries as hard as possible to avoid getting the player invested in the hope that the player will find something themselves that they'll get invested in as they play the game, and it doesn't work. Oblivion.isnt like Skyrim, so I hope you enjoyed it.

Combat is very slow paced. Controls clunky. Quest markers are always too straightforward and outright confusing at the same time.

The Elder Scrolls has a die hard fanboy community, most of them are practically religious when it comes to anything Elder Scrolls. Here is my honest opinion when I first played it around the time it came out. I enjoyed how it was open world, the idea that you could walk around and explore. Some of the music was nice as well, the things like crafting equipment was fun, some of the side quests were fun. However, the main story of the game was incredibly weak and not interesting at all, the voice acting in the game is pretty bad, and the overall graphics are also pretty bad. There isn't much real substance to the game to be honest, it's a pretty weak game in fact. I may have been spoiled as I had come from playing games like Final Fantasy X that had intense character development, amazing music, and an in depth interesting story that kept you interested and curious about what was going to happen next. I wouldn't call Skyrim a bad game, I wouldn't go that far, but I would certainly not call it a great game, if someone asked me for my honest opinion, I would just say it's about an average game. Of course the modding community have kept it alive, if there was no modding for Skyrim I think it would have fully died off by around just 2013, it has been the modders that have kept some interest in it alive, however that's in the modders content and not really the actual original game, so it doesn't really count as being interested in the original game. This is why Bethesda love the modding community, they in fact do most of the work over the years to retain interest in Bethesda's franchise, without the modders the Bethesda brand would be a lot weaker.

Skyrim definitely has a massive amount of flaws but calling it a "bad game" is definitely an exaggeration imo

To be honest, as a long time Elder Scrolls fan, Morrowind was way better, the quest were way more interesting, a lot more work went into the different npcs you encounter, ... Then Oblivion alreay shaved off a lot of things but I still found it enjoyable. Then came Skyrim, I really like the game but mostly because I played Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind's release and spent way too much time in those as a kid. And I agree that the quest in Skyrim were not that interesting, and it's the same for every guild quest... Like compare Oblivion's and Skyrim's Dark brotherhood quests... oblivion was way better, the quest were more interesting, there were a lot of different ways to kill your target, you were tasked with challenges like make it look like an accident, trying to kill everyone in a house while not rising any suspicion on you, ... In skyrim it is basically go there and kill that guy, they don't really give you any background at all etc... And it is the same for the rest... The mage guild or college is a joke and I found it quite disappointing like you can literally do nearly all the quests without casting a spell once... You can be a Arch mage with 0 perks point into any of the magic trees.. In Morrowind you had to have a certain amount of skill to be able to speak to them else they were just discarding you. But never play Morrowind if you never played it before, it's isn't a good wine and did not aged well at all. Most younger people find it boring and unattractive because you've to read a lot to be able to do anything. Like you take a simple fetch quest, if you did not read what the NPC told you, you probably will never find where the hell you're supposed to fetch that damn thing.

All the puzzles are stupid, there is nothing special with any of the dungeon enemies or in fact most the dungeons(like ffs these are ancient ruins and tombs meant to protect the corpses and treasures so no one can steal them and you're telling me they left the answer to the puzzles on the door key or on the ceiling right above the puzzle), out of all the bosses there is only one where you can use a different method of taking down an enemy(and thats alduin and having to use thums to bring him down to the ground, the rest you just swing your sword at for like 5 minutes and they're dead, there is no need to think in skyrim at all

I can't play Skyrim, I can't suspend my disbelief. This siberia sized chunk of land is depicted as being like 1% the size of luxemburg and the major cities are even smaller than Oblivion. That's only scratching the surface of the problems. I feel more immersed playing Daggerfall or Morrowind and can suspend my disbelief despite these games being seriously dated.

Yea skyrim is pretty mid, I realised I never played this game without mods, and still even with mods the game is kinda boring, Oblivion and Morrowind are the only elderscrolls I actually fully playthrough and play until I reach the endgame without any mods

I don't understand, why would you make this video in the first place because jt just sounds like skyrim is just not a game for you. And if you're gonna argue that it's not a good game due to reasons specified, perhaps other people think it's fine even without mods.

Skyrim is aesthetically nice and thanks to mods I could play Enderal on it, which I very enjoyed, so I won't complain too much. But it's just such a hollow shell story and gameplay wise. Nearly no interesting characters, everything is so samey and every item seems so random to find. It hasn't much soul in it.
