Skyrim speedrun to kill the ebony warrior  

"wtf is going on" well i'll tell you most skyrim speedruns are played as high elf, but i need to play as a khajiit and become a vampire because khajiit vampire (which the game considers a different race from khajiit) is able to do superstacking with gold rings, which only works with a few specific race/item combinations. superstacking is when i click the enchanted gold ring repeatedly and the fortify alchemy bonus keeps adding up. here's a very cool explanation: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-DeXia4LL8.html at the very beginning i do infinite sprint. hold sprint/quicksave/release sprint key/quickload in succession locks you into the sprint animation, and allows jumping while sprinting. also, whenever i go through a door or fast travel, i can quicksave and quickload right after the loading screen to cause the fadein animation to skip. quicksave/quickloading can also be used to skip npc dialogue like in most skyrim speedruns, i instantly escape helgen to go to a cave exit where i can perform a loadwarp that allows me to escape with my hands unbound. unlike in most skyrim speedruns, however, i don't go to the helgen keep exit and instead go to haemar's shame, because i can become a vampire there. loadwarping is the thing i'm doing when i open the menu while going into the cave, it allows me to load the save where my hands are unbound, while going through the cave, so that i become the character with unbound hands but i'm inside the cave then i do a horse tilt to fly past windhelm, to an island with gold ingots that i need to make the gold rings in the windhelm market, i do the merchant glitch to sell the merchant's own inventory to themselves, which gives me all the gold i need, and if they don't have an item i need, i can quicksave then attack them and quickload to reset their inventory. when i enchant a gold ring with fortify alchemy, then i can equip an unenchanted gold ring and then repeatedly press the enchanted gold ring. because the gold ring is bugged with khajiit vampires, the game *tries* to equip it, but can't, but i get the fortify alchemy bonus anyway, and it stacks every time i equip it but this alone isn't fast enough to get sufficiently powerful effects, so i speed it up with intermittent fortify resto potions once i can make a super fortify smithing potion, i can give a super smithed weapon to stenvar (and myself), drink a super fortify health potion so that i actually survive his attacks, and let his superpowered attacks level my block and heavy armor skills from 15 to 100 instantly i'll stream attempts to get sub-10 soon, follow twitch.tv/nucular_sr

Absolutely mind-boggling. Ive been aware of a lot of these things seperately as exploits and glitches; but to link them all this way is just genius. Never watched a skyrim speedrun before this so not sure how standard they are, G-est of G's.

I cheesed this fight, and I bet anyone with level 40 destruction can do the same thing. The impact perk staggers most enemies with dual casting, so I just stun locked the EW before he could swing his sword. A cheap win, but a win.

I used to casually run skyrim any% like 4 years ago and seeing these newer strats is so cool. Talking with the guard while sharpening the weapons is an awesome optimisation. Horse tilts are torture fr, but I feel like with better luck on those you'd save a fair bit of time with that alone. Saw a comment saying you were aiming for sub 10 and I think that seems doable with your strats. This run is great and best of luck achieving that goal!

I don't think loading saves should be part of speedruns. Might as well create a new character, then load a previous save that was right after receiving the letter to fight the ebony warrior.
