@@JDMSKYRIM iirc giving your heart makes you immortal (you still get dmg but health won't drop to zero), giving your dragonborn soul gives you a shout debuff (you loose your innate dragonborn affinity). I forgot what giving 10 dragon souls did.
Depends what you want. According to Aelarr, translator of the trilogy, Vicn told him that giving your own dragon soul is the best ending, through sacrifice you ascend into Amaranth, and create new Universe, as for your soul - by giving it to Shor, you act as an extension of Akatosh, and give it as an act of forgiveness - Akatosh/Lorkhan forgives Shor/Lorkhan for his treachery, and gives your soul as an apology for tearing out his heart. This is a symbol of Hope - that this Universe doesn't have to be torn apart by endless wars between warring gods and mortals - Akatosh/Shor : Mer/Men, and be destroyed and reborn just to repeat itself in an endless cycle of vengeance and hatred. In doing this, because of you there will be a lasting peace between men and elves - no more need for Thalmor, no more need for war, no more need for grudges and revenge. By offering your heart to Shor, you just free him by taking his place in the events of the cycle. Shor is temporarily free, but at the end of the world, the world will still be devoured by Alduin, then Reborn, Shor/Lorkhan will trick gods into creating the world, Akatosh/Auriel will tear out his heart, and two mortal races will once again be at each other throats. And the Amaranth isn't achieved, by doing this, you literally failed at the last step. You might be immortal for a time, (health doesn't fall below 1), but you will take the role of Shor and his punishment forever. As for giving all your dragon souls instead, it is presented as a middle road, but it ultimately achieves nothing. All those dragon souls? A single drop of water in the ocean of need. Amaranth requires completely selfless sacrifice. By giving your heart, you still want to hold on to your dragon soul. Selfishness. Same for all other dragon souls. You're giving anything except what is truly yours. Tldr, everything except sacrificing your own soul, means that essentially you were the last Hope of this cycle, and you failed at the last step. Hope this clarifies a few things.
@@grzegorzflorek5623 In the end I think the choice that makes most sense for your character and what you want is the right choice. Will you continue enduring for this world? Even if you don't get to be the one to end the Cycle? Will you give your Heart for the World and continue on as a Hero? Or will you finally take the chance at rest, and sacrifice your endless journey so thet cycle will end with the death of this world, and the one you bring forth will be the final unending world. It's a choice about what feels right for your character more than anything else. It's also in a sense, an answer to the question Paarthurnax asks you in the main quest, a definitive one. "Some would say that all things must end, so that the next can come to pass. Perhaps this world is simply the Egg of the next kalpa? Lein vokiin? Would you stop the next world from being born?""
@@theentity1839 Basically what you wrote is the almost exact same as I wrote. As for the last part,: "The next world will have to take care of itself", regardless whether we'll help it, or not. After all, we'll be almost certainly gone by then.
So just one more question: By ascending into amaranth in the "sacrifice your soul ending" do you actually become the new amaranth? Did TLD ascend beyond the dream and the dreamer and creat their own universe? From what you said I'd assume that the cycle of the kalpas (lorkhan tricking the gods/auri-el ripping his heart/the war between man and mer) is finally over and the new kalpa will be the world of peace (not exactly peace but a more stable conditios to live) @@grzegorzflorek5623
