There was nothing better than running down to the Thanet coast on a slam door train in broiling heat with bucket and spade.

Hear the 465s are being replaced aswell because they cost to much to maintain

The Last Slam Door Train was withdrawn from the South eastern division on 7th October 2005 and replaced by Class 375 Electrostar

They were replaced by Class 465/2s which became class 465/9

The class 465 were introduced to replace the class 415s, class 416s and class 423s The class 466s were introduced to replace the class 415s, class 416s, class 423s and class 508s The class 375s were introduced to replace the class 411s, class 421s, class 423s, class 365s, class 466s and class 508s The class 376s were introduced to replace the class 465s and class 466s
