Hearing Richie speaking such good things about Slash is just amazing. He was one of my first guitar player references and knowing that both get along that well is so amazing for me.
it's really cool to watch richie sambora talk about slash in so sincerely way.. they are both rock/blues guys from the same decade and went big almost at the same time. I'm glad to see they respect each other.. these guys really inspired me from a very young age.
I also think time and experience, along with some emotional maturation over the years changes ones perspective. Don't think that same conversation would have happened back in the 80s or even 90s, lol.
First time I have ever heard slash on the verge of tears and cracking of holding them back. Did anyone else notice that? either way, he most definitely deserved that award.
Sounds like he was getting choked up talking about Les. A guitar legend and I think an even better person from what his close friends say about him. There will never be another Slash.
This is what makes Richie Sambora such a Legendary Guitarist and Person. The Awesome Love and Respect He Showed Slash was so Awesome!! Love Both of these Guy's.
Slash is the most legendary guitarist ever , you can listen to all of the greatest guitarist.... and I have a both hands of them ... but not one is spot on the beat with killer solos killers blistering fingers very tricky and completely complex legendary licks that have voices on they own ... I put slash number 1 guitarist in history, greater than Hendrix and Jimmy Page and also humble , grounded and the most natural guitarist of them all , he makes it looks so easy ... his solos on 4 first Guns’n’Roses albums are absolutely amazing stunning piece of art with untouched music melodies that is second to none , Slash I love you and bless you . Australia 🇦🇺
Men i couldnt agree to you more, but blistering finger was way to much to describe, my idol is slash, but as a music lover, guitar player, there is a lot more blistering finger guittar player their is oht there, what makes my idol slash more above them all is, his melodic note he puts on the GNRs songs, that makes listeners hooked to his riffs, regardless, Slash is the most iconic and ear adoring riffs guitar player of all time! I love slash Slash forever!!!!!!!!!
Slash is the best guitarist with his Les Paul Gibson guitar.. No one can play the melody resembling a violin tune in the song November Rain. All his work and footprints in the world of rock music have been recognized and he deserves various awards...
My top 2 Les Paul users of all time are Slash and the late Gary Moore, not sayin the others are bad but those two creates music that personally resonates in my heart,...
People going on about Richie being drunk or high, err this is rock n roll not a Sunday school outing , he is still a great and iconic player and has a super hot chick, stop being jealous poindexters
+contact1araya And of note, if you watch when Slash performs after this, Orianthi is on stage and does great. Richie though is nowhere to be found. Shes an awesome guitarist. Shame her taste in men blows....
@@bySmokyy according to slash himself, and his book, it wasnt included cause they already had one love ballad in appetite, in scom, but they didnt want to have another incase listeners get the wrong ideas about the band. Dont forget, for most, this was their first taste of GNR
Slash is, and aways will be, the quintesential rock guitarist, composer, and one of the most revered and recognizable emmisary's of the genre. However, if this award is about technical, and creative excellence, and not name recognition (which, admit it, brings in foundation dollars), I'll always wonder why Brian Carroll has yet to be honored. If flawless, unbelievable technical excellence (four-finger tapping, 3 note-per-string scales), coupled with wicked instrumental composition skills, and over 450 albums (once a member of GnR until extemporaneous variations on GnR's music [the cause of the break-up] resulted in his leaving the band, but only after laying down the tracks for Chinese Democracy.) Those of you who know, will appreciate how the lack of creative license disenchants the musician and audience. Buckethead never plays the same composition the same way, twice, know that Brian will not tolerate a lack of creative license. This forced a principled end to the relationship. Right-brain creatives lose again. His two "must listen" pikes are the live version of Soothsayer (either Wakarusa or the 9/28/2012 version), and the studio Pike 65 "Hold Me Forever.."

this is les paul,, of course they chose slash,,, slash is their marketing,, yngwie . paul g .. steve vai.. joe s . john p are impossible tobe selected😅😅
first I felt sorry for Richie Sambora leaving the band, but now I see why Jon doesn´t want him around anymore, he is probably more drunk than sober all the time, I wouldn´t want to work with him anymore either....
he wanted to pursue his dreams of a solo artist. he said himself that he wanted to improvise on scene way more than in BJ as he was "starved of that" as he put it. you can clearly see he's quite often a bit absent on stage which can be due to drugs or alcohol or both but he still makes great music. everybody's happy anyway.
