Alex i gotta say the way you lean back when screaming the baba yaga after the part with the lasers on you is the most badass shit ever it truly sounds and looks like a monster, i love you dude ❤️
“Slipknot on steroids” just nails it. Sounds like early Slipknot with pulverizing breakdowns and Satan on vocals. I appreciate the dynamics and even the cleans. I dig it.
I've never been a huge death core guy with vocals like Alex but this band is just something different entirely and they've grown on me so much. Kostolom is absolutely in my top 5 albums of the year so far.
heard the song a million times, seen a million reactions, yet still, goosebumps EVERY time the breakdown hits and the whole band goes crab-core for a second
Evening gents, love this track. Seems fairly common across the board that the start of the chorus is likened to Iowa era Slipknot. It's cool that Alex uses the covers he does on his RU-vid channel to grow his vocal range and chuck it in the new music. New album is gonna be interesting!
This has to be in contention for metal song of the year. The Slipknot Iowa era vibes are definitely there in the best way possible. With how dynamic the track is, it’s got alittle something in there for everybody.
Can we get a breakdown of an Infant Annihilator track? It’s absolutely ridiculous and over-the-top. Even if you don’t like they lyrics or vocal style, you could do the Aaron Kitcher drum playthrough of C*ntcrusher. It’s even got every Aussie’s favourite word in the title. And everyone’s done it, but a breakdown of Jinjer - Pisces is always good to have. 🤘
They don't just kick you in the face they stand on your neck while doing it. Slaughter to prevail are my fav Metal band of the last ten years so brutal and talented can't wait till they can tour and come to Australia I might be 42 but I will be front and centre in the mosh.
Текст песни на английском -- Lyrics in English [Intro] Blood we drunk, flesh we ate That was a core of the innocent hate Blood we drunk, flesh we ate Love through the pain, nothing but fate [Verse 1] Just look at what your card says Tonight you stay awake and see horrors The horror’s upon you, a steel sound pierces you There’s a lot of talk about us, don’t run from fate In fact, they know me And know it’s best not to cross me And they scare the children with my voice They foolishly tried to break my spirit [Bridge] Unsuccessfully Alright, let’s talk, bitch [Verse 2] What and who makes the person pay? You have a problem, boy? Pay up, bitch Baba Yaga is coming for you You better run, run, run, run What and who make the person dead? You have a problem, boy? Pay up, bitch Baba Yaga is coming for you You are fucked, enjoy [Chorus] I can’t stand your promises and words, I’m done and sick Sharpening me teeth, sharpening my teeth, run, let’s play hide and seek And I can’t stand your promises and words, I’m done and sick They’re hiding children, they’re crying, cry, I feel all this shit [Verse 3] Just look at what your card says Don’t believe your sixth sense, it’s fucking bullshit How many zeros are there? Tran-transfer it You know my nickname? Learn it, remember Just look at what your card says Run or not, but Yaga’s watching How much did the percentage go over there? I’m Baba Yaga, have you absorb it? [Chorus] I can’t stand your promises and words, I’m done and sick Sharpening my teeth, sharpening my teeth, run, let’s play hide and seek And I can’t stand your promises and words, I’m done and sick They’re hiding children, they’re crying, cry, I feel all this shit, oh [Post-Chorus] I’m Baba Yaga This is your hell, made for you Let’s play hide and seek [Breakdown] Baba Yaga, the Bony-legged Sharpens her teeth, wants to eat children Baba Yaga, the Bony-legged The nose sticks into the ceiling, who am I? Baba Yaga, oh [Outro] Blood wе drunk, flesh we ate Blood we drunk, flesh we ate
Some references, that can be found there. Baba Yaga - in slavic folklore its witch, that lives in deep forest (word Baba or Баба in russian means either grandmother or countryside style of calling any woman. Thats kinda rude, but still), and in some stories acts as helper to hero of story, and sometimes works as "horror" antagonist, like she's stealing children and cook em in big pot. Also, btw, anthropologists, who study russian folklore also associates Baba Yaga with.. How to say that. Like gatekeeper between real world and world of the dead, like clear origins of that character are somewhat unclear. In famous John Wick series John's nickname is Baba Yaga, altough she's clearly mythologycally woman, no male counterpart. So i can think that they either played on topic of either Alex acting as Baba Yaga, like some of russian lyrical parts saying, or he acted as killer of witch, because you can see, that body parts - head look like kinda womans head. So, he killed and they with boys eaten Baba Yaga, presumably. Also, interior in start of video is clearly interior of traditional russian/slavic home from mid-ages to even nowadays in countryside parts of Russia. One of boys also cooked some body parts in pot in start. So, thats mythological references. English lyrics and some parts of russian one are in style of "Im so tough, cool, dont cross way before me", etc. So i assume, thats probably reference to John Wick, like all that lasers pointed at Alex, tank, rocket launcher, bulletproof west. Also, scene in the end, where they play russian roulette - they all wearing russian gopnik, or 90-2000's russian mafia style clothing, thats why tracksuits with gold chains, leather jackets, etc. It is canonical look of russian gangster from mid nineties to up to 2010. Also, whole scene, i think, is reference to somewhat "cultish" russian dark comedy, called Жмурки, or Jmurki in stransliteration. I dont know, how to translate that word in context, because there can be serious wordplay. That is very obscure, gory and dark comedy about some unfortunate russian bandits and their doings. Also, i think, that song is somewhat collection of all russian related stereotypes, like bear, russian house, baba yaga (folklore witch), tank, rocket launcher, AK rifle, winter, bandits, vodka, russian roulette. But its not just like stereotypes, but whole design of video is not just make fun of em, but to make em look cool and stylish, so group definetely embracing that "folklore". Sorry for bad english and long post
Honestly loving your range in genres you're reacting to, especially that you're so open-minded and honest to anything from pop to straight up deathcore. Keep it up guys!
We honestly believe every style has something we can take from it. We don’t like a lot of stuff, but we at least try to understand how it could appeal to other people.
HELL YEAH! Super glad you guys react to this. Not the biggest Slaughter fan tbh. Alex is a beast and so is everyone in that band but boy this song I love where they are heading and how diverse it is. Hope they do more tracks like this. Thanks for the vid loved it boys
The blood & gore are related to the story of "Baba Yaga" (баба джага). If I recall correctly she's like a hag in the forest, luring people to her and eat them. She's also resembled as the godess of death
I feel like we have the first track of the Try not to headbang challenge 2021. How can he do that? It's insane! WOW! WOW! To comment I actually need GIF! The drums, I don't know even to start. ABSURD!
Why does it look like I'm watching Luigi from the Mario Bros. It's the blue hat and the mustache.😁...Love your guys' channel. Yep sounds like I was listening to Slipknot.
Agony and Baba Yaga are my 2 go to songs, even before Demolisher. If you haven't checked out Agony, give it a go, I think you'll like that better than Demolisher as well based on what you've said in this video. It's different than Baba Yaga and Demolisher. All amazing! Gained a sub from me! You two are great!
This song/video made me an STP fan. This one & 1984 are fantastic. I can't wait to see how they evolve even more over the years, combining more clean singing with the growls/screams. Their guitarists are epic too.
If you guys have an hour to kill and want a little nerdy excursion into how vocalists can make these sounds... check out a video on The Charismatic Voice's channel called Operation Throat Camera. The channel belongs to Elizabeth Zharoff, she's a professional soprano and opera singer that uses her channel to nerd out and react to lots of different vocalists and their styles. She met up with Will Ramos of Lorna Shore at an institute in Salt Lake City that specializes in research on the use of vocal chords. They inserted a camera through his nasal passages to record his larynx in real time while he demonstrated his various vocal techniques. It's insane how much he contorts his vocal folds to produce those sounds.
I love that they threw so many different things into this song and made it all fit together so well. At first I definitely preferred Demolisher and Agony, but this song is growing on me and I think it may have surpassed those songs now. Just really well done all around. Very excited for the new album. Full album from Spiritbox about a month after that too. Can't wait for both of those.
I'm not a fan, but I loved Demolisher, even if I don't listen to deathcore generally. This raised the bar, I'm actually looking forward to the album now. And I totally agree with the Slipknot/nu metal feel. This would totally fit on Iowa if it was made by angry Russians, and it's cool.
Sounds like slipknot with IOWA mixed. NU metal but NU deathcore and i love it. His cleans are so so good. Loved the reaction guys. Most Russian video ever made
Try three bastard by infant annihilator ! Not their best song but it’s got an amusing music video But those guys are legends, musically they are next level It is super heavy though, but it’s not like deathcotd these days where it’s verse chorus verse breakdown chorus and just chugging away with a few cool inserts These guys are different ! Give it a go guys
in the end when you talked about him wrestling the bear not looking fake, it actually wasn't lol. if you look up alex terrible bear you should find some videos of him wrestling the bear
Oh I've been waiting for this one. I'm not one to really like their other stuff much either. I find deathcore to be a bit generic as of late? But this song I'm ALL about. And the dude actually does have a bear haha Also, will you be reacting to the new tdwp zombie ep? It slaaaays.
Something else that probably won't surprise you - that's Larry, Alex's PET bear. This remains the most Russian video ever, outside some of Little Big's early stuff. . Btw, check out his cover of Master of Puppets. Possibly the best thing I have ever heard. Metallica with gutterals and blastbeats? Yes please! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mJU8HS4FRsI.html
