Hip hop was excited when word broke that Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9", Crooked I, Joel Ortiz) signed to Shady Records. Anticipation built as many Slaughterhouse fans anxiously awaited the first release from Slaughterhouse under Shady Records. After stealing the show with the BET Cypher, Welcome To Our House was a must have album from all Slaughterhouse fans old and new. Glad Em isn't touching this upcoming album. Just Blaze is the executive producer. With Cardiak, Justice League, Araab Muzik, !llmind, and DJ Premier also handling the production on this new one.

I can definitely see "Throw It Away" on the radio and maybe one to two more. That may be it and even if they get on the radio, the spins will be short lived.

my life was a standout track on this disc (and has a few quotables)....and overall i felt it allowed the emcee's to shine in a very individualistic way without taking away from the whole disc. i have to say as a east coast bred hip hop head it sounded east coast in it's whole style.

I loved the see-saw line haha. Overall agreed with the general review. The only thing I liked was the smooth transitions in Place to be. Mixtape was great though.

Oh, and I wasn't amazingly impressed with the mixtape either, some really amazing gems on there but overall a bit underwhelming as well. Their first album, to me is one of the better records in the past five year, I love that shit to death, I'm a huge, huuuuge fan of them individually, but this just didn't cut it for me, which I feared. At this point, I pay for artists albums based on previous work, because right now, most major/full albums tends to be levels below earlier mixtapes/albums.

I was actually expecting to like this album, I went in totally (well, kinda) knowing what to expect but still left disappointed, really, really let down by what these guys produced. I honestly think this was a cop out, especially considering how long, and how much they talked about not selling out and wanting to be respected and have their integrity intact instead of reaching commercial success.. so much for that. If they want to produce a project like this, make it a mixtape and hav fun wit it.

The more I listen to this one i think the review might be a little unfair. I agree about some of the production over powering the emcees because it's very loud and you miss the intricacies of the flow and bars BUT I've been really listening to the bars are there are some really witty very well crafted bars and flows on this album. Hasty judgment this time around. One man's opinion.

I see the reason though. People praise their first album but it didn't move any units. I believe they knew how this album would be perceived by the majority of their earlier fans. That's why they dropped that mixtape. I feel that when you are dropping a mixtape before an album that the mixtape should be like a rough draft of the album, not some consolation prize for the album. My advice, if you haven't heard the first album go check that out and pick that up.

50,000 is a respectable figure in this day in age, especially for a bunch of emcees that only 2 years ago were struggling to sell 10,000. You don't have to like this album, but respect them because they can get a #1 Album and not to even mention them being able to sell out shows by themselves.

I'm pretty sure we said that we didn't expect 2 Chainz to blow us away lyrically. SH is in a whole other lane and what we expected from SH we got but only on the mixtape, not the album. We also mentioned in the review that the SH mixtape was dope so I don't understand the issue. We liked the mixtape but didn't care for the album. What's wrong with that? At the end of the day, SH got the praise they deserved in relation to what we wanted the album to be. Thanks for watching.

The Album had the Slaughterhouse we all know with dope Bars on Die , Our Way , Hammer Dance , Coffin , Asylum and Frat House .Goodbye and The Other Side were deep Emotional tracks . Our House , Flip a Bird and Rescue Me were great(If you "Hip Hop purists" can get over the hook) . My Life , Place to Be , Get up , Throw that where made for the mainstream audience and they did a good job at that . What more do you guys expect from a Major label release? this album's an easy 7.5 /10 for me.

I feel like it all boils down to Eminem's post Relapse fans. After everyone hated Relapse, Eminem went pop and made songs for mainstream radio fans, and now he wants to appeal to that fanbase.

Yes, it was really mainstream but they are still real enough so they don't fall in the same category as ymcmb. I'm a fan of the mixtape and the album. If I'm in the mood for rougher more lyrical shit I'll listen to the mixtape, obviously. But I think the album is solid. Their goal was to show people that they could write great overall songs. There is a few tracks that is aimed for more mainstream audiences but thats inevitable when doing a album on shady records. I believe they still showed their great lyrical ability throughout. Dudes comment about how he feels nobody ripped a Verse on any track is cra
