Love how you casually said at the end good luck, it's an easy song! While I'm barely able to play this first riff. Guess i better start practicing. Great tone on that fender btw and you're a good teacher. I understand what has to happen. Just gotta work to get there. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Keep up the good work! These are really good lessons to learn the songs. One thing, I never expected to hear a Slayer song on a guitar with single coils :)
metalbrayn my weekends are down time ..my heaven is my man cave ,,youtube find a riff to get my teeth into and m8 your the fucking king of tutorials i always come away with a banging riff cheers my friend keep up the GOODFUKINWORK
hi. i don't think all of the opening is down picked - albeit most of it certainly is. i think a lot of the groups of 3 chromatic runs are "down up down". Certainly you can see King play this as all down picks in certain live videos (King is more into downpicking imho and evolved that way) but look at Hanneman playing this live and listen to the recording. it's more organic than mechanical. I'm pretty sure you can do it either way but certainly ok to alternate on the low E and then "strumming" the F5, E5, Eb5 as down, up, down etc (And also watch how Tom plays bass. He is alternate picking on the low E)
I disagree totally ! I do love Metallica too but you can't compare "seasons" with an almost pop album. Except "struggle within" no song can match " war ensemble, temptation, spirit in black ...in fact whole album. Btw, good lesson Bryan, as usual, thank you.
no Slayer plays most of their songs in E flat tuning similar to what Black Sabbath does on a lot of their songs. Well their newer albums some songs use Drop D and Drop C# tuning for some Christ Illusion album songs.
