My Slayer Playlist! • Slayer
In this Seasons In The Abyss guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this incredible metal classic by Slayer in its entirety.
The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That means that every string on a standard tuned guitar is tuned down one half-step. That will be, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Or if your tuner reads chromatic notes as sharps instead of flats, you will tune to D# G# C# F# A# D#.
There are quite a number of absolutely epic riffs in "Seasons In The Abyss". I will cover all of them in the order that each appears on the original recording.
The intro involves 3 separate guitar parts, so you will have to decide which ones to play if you are in a two guitar band. Just watching some live Slayer clips will show you how they played it live.
I will also cover Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman's guitar solos. They are tough to get exactly note-for-note due to the nature of how they were performed, but we can still get pretty close.

@@vampirehunter_lee I'm at 30 years as well. We also had bad tab books going against us as well. There's a video on how notoriously bad and justice for all was. Seen an "authentic" pantera book today I opened up for giggles and I'm broken main riff was wrong. Same notes, but wrong string. We also had crap gear as teenagers as it takes awhile to save up for that lower end model and create combo on 4.25 an hour lol.

3 years into my guitar journey at 54 years young, this song was one of the beauties we listened to while partying in the fields as teenagers(over and over!)............Crazy, I've been working on learning this for a while and now I get to make sure I'm playing i correctly! Both the South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss albums are just filled with memorable riffs. Lessons from these two epic albums are always welcome and appreciated. The 2023 hot streak continues and you’re making it terribly difficult not to tip Mr. Brown 😉. Maybe time for more Queensrÿche or “Bloodstone” by Judas Priest? Have a great weekend. I have had to take a brief hiatus from guitar playing, but it’s great to know that there will be so many great lessons to catch up on when my guitar journey resumes soon!

Another perfect rendition, my freaking god Carl you are incredible. Is there any chance of tipping the hat to Gary Holt who took over from Jeff R.I.P in 2011 & cover a couple of Exodus tunes in 2023 while you are in thrash mode. Gary is a true thrash legend and IMO one of the greatest and criminally underrated guitarists of all time, along with Jake.E.Lee and Dio era Vivian Campbell.
