In this video, I go ice fishing for panfish during early winter of 2021 on a public lake in upstate New York. I found some fairly hot panfish action, jigging and catching jumbo perch, beefy pumpkinseed sunfish, a hefty pumpkingill sunfish, bluegill, slab black crappie, a golden shiner, a smallmouth bass, a chain pickerel, and largemouth bass. I was mainly fishing with a tuned-up custom rods bullwhip, crappie maxx reel, 3lb trilene ice monofilament, humminbird ice 55 flasher, fancy-pants electric auger, and teardrop ice jigs tipped with spikes. I tried to share panfish ice fishing tips and techniques along the way.
