they might have read a book by a mourning dad about his adopted daughter who got accepted to college and then, apparently thinking she’d peaked, jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge early one morning, leaving a note explaining where to find the family car near the bridge. i read this book after my own godson suicided himself.
I’m australian and I am very embarrassed and disappointed by the folks there. Aussie crowds are supposed to be the best!! I wasn’t even born when this song came out and I would kill to be in that crowd jumping up and down singing my arse off.
@@Genny-Zee It's ok, They're just having a bad day. Maybe it was too hot. Aussie crowds made up for it with Veruca Salt! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0cMRkgH8yYw.html
hmmm... if we leave Dave Weckl out and say he's primarily fusion (which is absurd by itself, but just for giggles), that leaves (in no particular order) Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, Tim (Herb) Alexander, Danny Carey ....i ran out of a fourth place slot
THIS was the Carrie performance I missed sooooooooo much! 3:17-3:20. she shakes this dripping, discordant, electrified static from the neck of her guitar, and it makes me feel all tingly.
This live performance would have been ten times better if the crowd was going wild. One of my favourite songs by Sleater-Kinney. And Janet is incredible on the drums - amazing what a three piece without a bass player can do.
I just love watching and hearing Janet Weiss beating the sh*t out of her drumkit ! So satisfying... A great rock'n'roll drummer, and great snare drum tone !
this song.....there's just something about this song, this ONE song is SOOO different from ALL their songs, i mean style wise they've covered EVERY area of rock but this song! I just can't figure it out...i LOVE it, but what makes it SO different to me, what area of rock it actually is??? idk:-P
I turned 40 tolday, I lived and breathed playing really bad guitar.. I tell you these people are very good, shes so good her style leaves her room for stuffs.
being from California and knowing the history of the golden gate bridge and it's. draw for those who want to commit suicide. ..this song holds a lot for me.
goddamn Corin's vocals SOAR over this song (and every other). carrie is, like, one of my main inspirations but Corin always impresses the hell out of me. without her, there truly would be something missing. oh, and janet weiss could take on John Bonham any fucking day of the week.
A very heavy sound. I love it. They always sound good live, but this is extra heavy. With the original lineup, they were a force of nature (like Janet accurately described it). They're still really good, just different. I miss Janet though.
Janet wasn’t in “the original lineup.” Laura was the original drummer. She was on the 1st two albums, but then wanted to return to her home in Australia. The first album was recorded in Australia.
Much better as hard driving rock instrumental band, they lack a signature vocalist. Not punk, more indie sound. Still overall exciting all girl band. I remember seeing Fanny live in Cincinnati circa 1968, they were aggressive but ultimately just didn't have it to blow up. worst band live ever were Grand Funk Railroad they made ears bleed with extreme loudness, like hundreds of jets together.
