I have sleep apnea for yrs and I just had this surgery last week on July 20, 2023. The recovery part is the worst. 😢 I cant wait until i get better. 🙏🏻
@@Samsaraslug I don't have sleep apnea anymore. I have permanent loss of feeling in the bottom left part of chin. During recovery I was defenseless and was being fed with a syringe in the corner of my mouth. I couldn't talk had to write what I wanted to say. But I guess I breath better now.
@@gabbysingh624 I can't speak for tooth extraction, save for wisdom teeth which are a little easier. Still, I would say that, in the long run, you'll be glad you did it! You won't miss the fatigue you feel from a bad bite.
When performing the genioplasty surgery, is the chin bone only pulled toward or downwards too? I have a deep mentolabial and I’m wondering if genioplasty will help not only with my week chin but also by deep mentolabial?
i don't understand if it cutting and only moving the front portion of these jaws how is it giving so much space to the inferior portion. Or any of it for that matter. Seems more aesthetic than functional.
It’s not really the front portion of the jaws at all apart from the genioplasty. It’s actually done past all the teeth in the jaw so it’s quite far back
its not a bad question actually. the jaw is like a horseshoe, so the back section wouldn't really interfere with your airway. it attaches near the ear, too far left or right of your throat. the airway crowding is caused by the tongue and soft pallate being pulled in. with the maxilla or top jaw, you can see they fully cut it and advance it, which would pull out the soft pallate. this also creates room for the tongue to rest on the top of the mouth, whereas with recessed jaws the tongue is lower and sticks out toward the back of the throat. with the mandible, advancing the cut section pulls the tongue forward with it.
because thats all its for. these people with bad genetics and recessed facial features dont care at all about functionality. cosmetic surgery needs to be banned already i cant stand these frauds cheating their genetics
if you have an underdeveloped jawbone, it does not stop your tongue and other soft tissue from developing like a normal person. So, at the end you have a tongue that's too big for your mouth interior, which blocks the airway when relaxed during the sleep.
if youre 9. 😂 Im a girl, and ltb. Been mewing since age 12, no expansion in my palate whatsoever. I will be 14 in 3 months and still ltb. Going to get marpe, braces and tads. Will be wageslaving for the next 4 or 5 years to get this surgery. Im hate being ugly. Marpe is my only hope. I wish i could be normal
