i love the way Cisneros pounds his bass. its like an extreme Geezer Butler's or Entwistle's "typewriter" pizzicato, that typical 70's pluck stroke near at the neck pickup region. enter a fatal distortion and the mean, beautyful Rickenbacker's vintage crisp... thats the core of Sleep's melody style.
The best part about this is watching Pike play the same thing over and over and over and pretending it changes. It never changes. Same riff again and again. that is brilliant.
they killed it in Seattle last year with Jason Roeder from Neurosis on drums, amazing, hopefully they will enlist Matt Bayles or Steve Albini to record a new album (or live soundboard? DVD) for 2013
i've never seen him mess up or look like he is messing up.. he just JAMS Either way, he seems to be very soft spoken and reserved but i bet he is a very cool dude
So heavy... Suddenly I feel the urge of smoking... Thanks for posting! If you like this check out hellbarclubs high quality filmed show of SATURNALIA TEMPLE show with Jex Thoth at Debaser as well.
willr455 From the looks of it its just a nice easy jam for them and since its their hour long song (wtf has an hour long song) everyone that enjoys sleep gets excited when it comes on so it makes a perfect encore or intro if they dont use one of their other classics Now a show where they actually play Dopesmoker in its entirety sounds absolutely crazy and amazing haha
Yeah, I totally agree. The only downfall is that its not the whole song :( Besides that, I'm just amuzed to see this be played in Sweden. Be wise legalize!
