To the creator of this channel. If you ever get to read this, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for sharing this. I love early Sleep Token ❤ Back then they probably had hopes and dreams like any other band. And now from 2018, the year this video was uploaded to the current day, January 1st 2024, not only are they most successful band on the planet right now, they have changed how metal music is conceived, constructed and delivered! Love them or hate them, this band is here to stay and I for one are excited to consume the next chapter of their amazing journey! ❤
I am convinced that whatever algorithm RU-vid uses supresses great music intentionally. I cannot fathom how some of their vids have views in the low 1000s, and how a band with 40K followers and has relatively few decent live videos which only get 100 odd views and 3 likes.....No way its legit
Come on RU-vid, why didn't I see this before? I've been listening to them nonstop for a year now and it still blows my mind how insanely talented they're. Worship. (And leave their identities alone, they're wearing masks for a reason, show some respect.)
update : August 30, 2020 (a pretty shitty year for humanity a year that brought out the worst in us ) two years and four months after this video was uploaded to RU-vid, still no dislikes !!! with more than 11,738 views !!! that my friends talks about how fucking amazing this band is !!!
Blessed Be@@TheJTK123 Yes Ian Curtis is dead he killed himself he was the singer of the legendary Joy Division that is why i put was/is a legend. Ian and the exceptional Vessel put real dark emotionl into their lyrics, beautiful voice that touches the soul. JulietInBlack 🦇
@@julietlnblack493 very well put my friend! Well put... I am obsessed with Vessel's voice and now I shall be obsessed with Ian Curtis's voice. Thank you for that! For real
Blessed Be Semaj, Yes i too am utterly obsessed with Vessel's beautiful other worldly voice. It was even more magnificent live, their lovely merchandise guy got me in free to their sold out Manchester gig in England. WORSHIP. JulietInBlack 🦇
How in the world can a band be so perfectly in sync and on key…as good as if not better than the recording…I’m shookith! Should be illegal…good grief 🤣🤣
not long after my overdose i came across sleeptoken on youtube, everybody literally everybody ive played his music for was fuckin amazed.i could die today n die happy knowin ive heard some beautiful music through one of mankinds worst 2years in awhile.these were my best 2 years.3 overdoses later im still here somehow.wishin these mofos would just get the hint already.im not depressed or sick or nuthin.ive lived life n seen some of mankinds worst faces.im tired of this place n its nasty fuckin people is all.i wanna see whats next
I can relate to this. After a similar experience after feeling like I'd lost everything, lost all my friends and the help on the NHS being shit when I did attempt to take my life so I just fell into addiction. I still am trying to get through addiction, still have no friends, life is arguably worse and my mum has cancer so I still think about just killing myself but I haven't tried again. Sleep Token seems to really help when I'm really low. You're always more than welcome to reach out. I hate the idea of anyone else having to feel this way. It's not worth ending things though because you'll die anyway eventually. May as well ride it out and see if things get better somehow.
live on and see sleep token play live! that is whats currently keeping my shipwreck of a boat still floating, the day i see sleep token play live, i'll be good to go to drop the fucking anker.
....can't believe they played Nazareth on radio... I'm part of the camp that doesn't like the suggested violence in it, but also respect the song's existence and meaning. Just not my cup of tea. But because of the violence that's why I'm surprised it was on radio
I love this band, but one thing that kinda creeps me out is that their aesthetic is cult like. Then you mix his beautiful voice and music to it, just feel right but it works soo welll
Love the band, love the drum parts, love the sound in general - but I particularly hate the snare tuning. It sounds like some "I don't care, just crank it" tuning on a 12" side snare from the early 2000s pop-punk/metalcore days...
You know what? I actually said the same thing to myself when I first heard it. But then it grew on me. After watching a couple live shows of them it just baffles me how well his snare cuts through the noise and fill up the room. Especially with all that reverb
No it doesn't bro shut the fuck up it sounds like a goddamn gunshot and you know it but you're right on this live radio recording with absolutely no effects. It doesn't sound like what they envision on their albums or even live on their own set, for that matter. Yeah true, but their snare choice is fucking nutty.
As a lifelong drummer, the uniqueness of the snare is one of the first things that drew me to this band. Stayed for the emotion of it all. Amazed I have only now seen/heard this performance on RU-vid.
