Sleeping Dogs had a potential to be the next competition for GTA. The character developments here are superb and the combat system looks much more fluid than GTA is. However, they really need to fix the driving mechanics here and the combat mechanics for gunfights as well. Plus, I hope they make more missions and side-missions and made the Girlfriend system much more dynamic. Also, make it much more bigger Hong Kong or maybe a new city as well. I really hope Square Enix brought this game back. It's been 8 years now. PS5 and Project Scarlet for XBOX is coming up now. I hope the next sequel packs a punch that could potentially harm not only GTA but it's open-world games as well.
You probably know this by know, but the developers of the game aren't making Sleeping Dogs 2, United Front Games closed down, I love this game and I miss it, it's sad we'll never see sleeping dogs 2

i remember playin this game (demo version) a long time ago, and thinkin to myself "man i gotta get this game" just got it last night and cant wait to go home from work, get high and play it
Plus, In the past many youtubers have played this game and enjoyed it a lot, like theRadBrad, for example or RajmanGaming HD Also the new Sleeping dogs (not second) (Not sequel) Is just in a better HD Position called the definitive edition which looks amazing! And who the f!ck would think GTA III Is better. That sounds dumb to me. The gta games I like better than sleeping dogs are GTA 5 And SA. SquareEnix you guys are guys amazing. And screw all you haters for sleeping dogs. ;)

ok fine.....name one part of the GTA seies as a whole that has any sense of depth at all...it's once again a crappy game with no depth.....There is no reason to play it after the first 5 hours..... sleeping dogs is a better game in almost every aspect...just admit it already

Sleeping Dogs is such an underrated game. It's far more than a mere GTA clone. While it does have many of the same elements in the GTA world series, it also has elements from many other games like True Crime 1 and 2, The Warriors, and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Also I ahev dying light,bf 4 hardline advance warfare and stuff but I don't play them and I feel bad but I can't stop playing this game if anyone is wanting to buy this game you should because it is one the best games out there in my opinion
play the game first , then reply ... of course gta iv has better graphics. i know that "sleeping dogs" has many new things like "saints row the third" but none of those games can compare with gta iv . thats my opinion. (btw its not the first game with kung fu, i dont understand why you are so enthusiastic about that)

Don't know(swimming sucks),I don't think so(You can get on top on many buildings by climbing but i don't know about the bigger buildings),maybe(not shown yet not really intresting i hated flying in gta 4...),Its set in hong kong...you will have many rendomly generated side missions you will also have other things to do then just missions! Its an open world game and you have more to do then just follow missions,you can fail missions and continue and the story will change if you fail a mission!
Don't know if anyone else noticed this, CBA to check, but at about 2:35 the guy says "Now, time to assess your skill level in Kung Fu" then Wei starts doing Wado Karate. You'd think game dev's would do a bit of research first right?
I meant that as the developers did not try, they fail to do anything better than what we have at the moment. Includes a series of Saints Row, and other open world games. This game has beautiful graphics, but no soul. Sorry for my English.
Oh that one. Yeah it actually is, when somebody tries to stab you, at times when you parry, Wei will either flip them on their back, like you saw, or instead of flipping them, drive the knife into the stomach.
I brought it up because in the video she said that it's unlike any other game, and that's incorrect, and i'm not even saying that as a sleeping dogs hater or anything, i'm going to get the game in 30 minutes for gods sake!
We don't know whether the story will be better or not. Lets be honest, GTA never has a story, it's always just a bunch of missions you do for a bunch of guys, that's it.. there's no real story.
Hong kong was a british colony so english is a main language in hong kong ! And only the main characters talk in english but are cantonese speaking people! all the other people talk in cantonese!
I really hope the fighting is like batman: arkham city where you can get attacked twice from 2 different enemys at the same time, i hope it will not be " one enemy attack while others watching"
My point was the hand to hand combat fluency. And that wasn't even called for, batman doesn't kill. I'm sure if he did they'd let him do much worse then throw guys into ovens -.-

The fact that this game was set to be released in 2006 by Activision makes me rethink that surely it was a game ahead of its time and in 2012 it still looks like a great game
Fantastic game . It was something different . More detailed shooting and fighting in a open world crime game. I got more out of it then many games like it .
Also Max Payne(slo-mo), Wheelman(moving hijack), Burnout(takedown) along with Assassins Creed, GTA and Punisher(havent played yet but i wll take your word for it).
punisher has to do with like hiding bodies and stuff and like putting the guy into the garbage dumper and assassin creed has to do with jumping and doing parkour
Yeah they are actually, upgrade your skill set. Then when locked on, press the freerun button to hop over your enemy's back once you've acquired the skill.
my idol is wei shen i bought the game and that guy has guts! im gonna try to live my life they way he does, not scared, talks to anyone and his guard is always up
