Disclaimer - This was made for a 3 day long Halloween Game Jam. The Theme was "Ghost People doing normal people things."

Funny enough, even if the game is probably mostly made for fun, this is very similar to how I felt when my neighbors didn't let me sleep for a long time with their repair work. I feel your pain, main character ((

It's totally for fun you're right but also, we wanted people who have trouble like this to share solidarity in knowing that there are others who share your pain and we can all come together and look for some kind of common ground in finding the funny side of it!

I think I love this game. A lot of good mood early on, and then after a certain point it seems like every single scare or scene gets me but then makes me do a double take.

Damn it, with all the horror I watch it is not often a jump scare gets me, but for some stupid reason 'falling ladder man' made me jump a bit... possibly because it was such an unusual unexpected thing.

A lot of jumpscares use massive bangs or screenshakes to scare you, we found that those a lot of the time are just unpleasant at least this way there's something to laugh at afterwards!

wait you have insomnia yet you keeping all the lights on? LOL! when I had insomnia I had to turn everything off and all doors locked - basically get rid of distractions (lights and sounds, even those blinks from electronics) and sources of paranoia (for me it was home invasion and fire), but maybe it is different for other people, whatever keeps them calm?

I have to have a light on when I go to bed. When it's completely dark I feel too anxious and antsy, while the light is comforting. I've also noticed that it's easier for me to feel sleepy during the day, then at night I'll get too hyper and wired.

That may be the case for chronologic insomnia (and that is hell, I could imagine), but your average joe has stress induced psychosomatic insomnia. Meaning your brain can't shut off and keeps in work mode, even though your body screams for sleep. To this day I have it and I lovingly call it: my brain won't shut up. What people with those symptoms helps best: sensory overload, so the brain can't focus as much on thinking and more on processing information. For me it is sound, I either need my TV running very loud through all the night or an audiobook playing while I sleep.
