Highway recovery vehicles have in general between three (3) to five (5) separate hydraulic functions.
The three most common functions are.
1. A Hydraulic Winch
2. Tray Tilting (Up and down) using twin Hydraulic Cylinders
3. Tray Slide (In and Out) using a Long Stroke Hydraulic Ram.
the other two (2) optional functions are
4. Rear Mounted Hydraulic Wheel-Lift (T bar or L barType with
5. Extend and Retract Function.
This video focuses on the removal of the long cylinder that slides the Tray In and Out on a Vehicle Recovery Unit and the preparation involved in sliding the tray back far enough to fully expose the cylinder and allow it to be easily removed from the truck's Chasis.
