So enjoyable to see father and son together, what great memories for Byron who looks remarkably so much like Slim. Truly enjoyed listening to them. RIP Slim.
So wonderful to hear father and son sing together. Such memories this brings to my heart. 75yrs here and remember Mr. Whitman had me come on stage and sang "I'll take you home again Kathleen. My friend told him that my name is Kathleen. It was such a wonderful memory and unforgetable.
Byron when are you going to start singing again...love the clip with you and your dad singing ‘it’s good to be back home again’ love your happiness and energy...
liz. it's so good to hear REAL songs sung by REAL singers again &what beautiful words, not like the endless rubbish churned out today thankyou a thousand times slim &byron xx
This is such a fabulous duet by Slim and Byron. Many thanks Pete for this great videos of the best country singers in my lifetime. I hope all these wonderful songs will live on for many years to come...MM. U.K
Singing with your dad. Lucky men. God bless them. Knowing how many boys grow up now without their fathers this really chokes me up. Makes me deeply grateful for my own dad. He can't yodel to save himself- but he was, still is, a great father.
@@belindawilliams991 Byron is doing well living in Jacksonville and is not in the music industry anymore. He took care of his dad up until the end and now he lives a quiet life.
Thank you both for the joy you have brought to the world. Your voices are heard in our hearts. I can see my mum front row as you play in the heavens , Slim. God bless you both by divine right.
My goodness, watching Byron sing is like stepping back in time to one of his father's concerts. I met Slim Whitman when he performed at Sunderland Empire and he was the epitome of old world charm. Not many men made me feel weak at the knees, but Slim Whitman did, and seeing his son Byron, brings back a ghost from the past. Thank you ChorltonPete for sharing. :-)
Byron is a good singer....but Slim...wow, he is special, so far better than others then and even much better even now than the present singers....Slim simply was above the others in talent.
Wow! What amazing and wonderful duet, between Slim and his son, Byron! I love it! Thank you so much for sharing this! God bless, Charles (Bro. Charlie Pratt)
I would love to hear more about Byron. I heard him sing with his dad for the time this week on You Tube. Now I can't get the songs out of my head! Such beautiful voices. Is their music still available to buy? Does Byron still sing?
Byron Whitman's voice sounds like Damien McGinty the Irish singer, or maybe I should say that teenage Damien sounds like Byron. The have the same warble at full voice.

When it was announced that this John Denver song was voted Song of the Year, Charlie Rich burned the envelope because he hated Denver and this song. What a ding-dong if ever there was one.
That so not real I got slim cds never knew he had a son that just slim when he was young teeth moustache voice I can't get over it reall can't so not real
Slim Whitman lived about 10 miles from me in Middleburg/ Orange Park Florida on old Jennings Road where he died. He will be missed I don't know what happened to Byron I do know he had a lot of trouble with the law.
Fantastic audio .Could almost hear his nose hairs whistle while his eyebrows fight to stay apart. Some say it was the longest feud of their generation of Bigbrow downs.
