Just been to our march here in woolgoolga ,for anzac day ,its just great to see how bigger and bigger it gets every year .i think our digges would be so proud that they are not forgotten ,and they are thanked for our freedom .you take care .xxx

My Dad was in the Middle East for 4 years and 6 of my Uncles also served in WWII. My Pop was a 5th Lighthorseman in WWI. LEST WE FORGET 🇦🇨🇳🇿❤❤

The Aussie soldiers were helped by PNG natives who they called 'fuzzy wuzzy angels' - a term that would be frowned upon these days but it was meant with love and respect.

Photograper Damien Parer took graphics photos of those men barely trained & equipped who saved Australia from Japanese invasion on mountainous Owen Stanley track (Kokoda) to surprise of the world . American troops on northern side of PNG deemed them unable to survive or emerge from Owen Stanley ranges as winners

We had a German tank gunner and a Korean war veteran over the road when I was a child. It is not the blokes it is the management. We can all get along.

The Kakoda track is in New Guinea where the Aussies fought the Japanese in WW11. My dad was one of those Aussies ❤🇨🇰❤️🇨🇰❤️

My POP was in New Guinea only a hundred miles north of Australia, he had sent my mum nan, and siblings back to the bush to live in case of invasion .

Rabaul - the then capital of New Guinea (East New Britain Province), suffered severe aerial bombing throughout January 1942, a month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and a month before the bombing of Darwin, on the 23rd January the Japanese invaded, the Australian garrison of 1400 opposed the invaders but… about 4oo of the 1400 Australian troops garrisoned there managed to escape into the Baining Mountains the remaining where either killed or were taken as POW's (most did not survive) - Rabaul was to become one of the largest Japanese bases in the Pacific, and the headquarters for Admiral Yamamoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy...
