OMG! My father Rest in peace always would say " cement mixer Puddy puddy" every time he saw a cement truck! He said this my whole life! He was a Jazz musician of course! But, I never knew that this was a real thing. Out of curiosity I googled it and boom! It was a real thing. I am freaking out right now! Oh how I miss my father.
I met a woman who played with Slim later on, her stage name was "Lady Vi"- he would always stop by her house in Los Altos, CA when he was nearby, cook up some incredible Cuban food, tell stories about his many exploits, and then move on... I interviewed her on my radio show. Slim was quite a character!
