How does a Slimming World franchise work?
When you invest in a Slimming World franchise, you’re licensed to run a Slimming World group and to use our unique methods to support and inspire members to lose weight. The franchise is underpinned by our strong national brand - a household name throughout the UK and Ireland. You’ll be backed up by a dedicated management team and you’ll be supported to launch your business using our tried-and-trusted marketing methods.
What qualifications do I need?
You don’t need any formal qualifications to apply. If the role is right for you, you’ll receive all the training and ongoing support you need to succeed, delivered by our expert team at the Slimming World Academy (where you’ll learn alongside your fellow trainee Consultants from around the UK and Ireland).
Do I need to be a Slimming World member to apply?
No you don't need to be. You may have been inspired by a friend, a family member or a colleague who’s lost weight at Slimming World, and you’ll definitely be someone who’s motivated by supporting others to achieve their goals. Certainly you’ll understand and empathise with the challenges members face on their weight loss journeys. You’ll also have a real passion for Food Optimising, an understanding of our Body Magic programme, and a strong belief in the effectiveness of our methods.
What personal qualities do I need?
We look for people with a positive outlook, who genuinely care about the health and happiness of others. Whether you’re confident and outgoing or more reserved, as a Consultant, you’ll be kind, warm, non-judgmental -sometimes firm, and often funny - as you offer support and encouragement to your group.
What are the benefits of being a self-employed Slimming World Consultant?
Flexible working - our Consultants set their own hours, fitting the role around family life and other commitments
Consultants can generate an income of between £100-£400/€200-600 per week. The amount of profit that you make depends on the number of groups or sessions you run, and the number of paying members you support. The most successful Consultants are those who promote their groups, build busy, buzzing sessions and support members to achieve their dreams.
As part of your franchise, you’ll also make a profit on sales of Slimming World recipe books, Slimming World Magazine and Slimming World Hi-fi bars to members.
On average, once Consultants have launched their group and completed their Foundation Training, they work 10-20 hours a week for a single group and actual income may vary.
Comprehensive training package - all Consultants receive expert training at the Slimming World Academy, covering all you need to know about the Slimming World plan, the science and psychology of weight loss, plus running and promoting your own successful business
Ongoing support - through your local Team Developer and District Manager, plus our Head Office team who will be on hand to offer help and advice when you need it, with encouragement at every step of your Consultant journey
