Slingshot Review! The perfect vehicle for a mid-life crisis! 

I get 30 mpg. I travel the country in my 2017 SLR. YES I do wear a helmet with face shield for bugs and rocks. It's fun as hell on The Trail of the Dragon. Bear Tooth Pass this summer. Fyi I live in Northen Indiana.

I loved your review. Last month I bought a 2017 Slingshot. I have always wanted one because they just look so futuristic. Yes, people keep asking how fast it is. I have to say IT IS NOT A SPORT CAR!! You are right about the age group. I'm 54 now. This is the perfect marching for my mid life crises. I don't care that you get too hot in the bad days of summer. I will rid it anyway. I'm simply glad I have it. It gives me a release from my norm. Thank you for posting this vid. I liked it a lot.

I rented one yesterday for a few hours. Only real gripe I have is that the brakes aren't the greatest in the world. Don't expect to stop short at 40 mph even with the pedal all the way to the floor. Nice video, just one minor correction. @ 2:47 you state that "you do have to have a motorcycle license to drive one of these" that statement is incorrect. It depends on the state you live and/or where you'll be driving weather or not you'll need an MC license in addition to weather or not you'll have to wear a helmet while driving. If the state considers the SS an "Auto Cycle" you CAN operate with a standard drivers license WITHOUT a motorcycle endorsement and you WILL NOT have to wear a helmet. I hope that helps anyone that was even the slightest bit disappointed when he said that. A simple google look up for your state will confirm the question.

the polaris website calls it an autocycle in West Virginia and you only have to have a valid drivers license to drive it

Laws for the slingshot are state specific don’t get discouraged after seeing this video and hearing oh you gotta wear a helmet and get motorcycle license. You don’t at least in Arizona

You do not need a motorcycle lic to drive one of those.as it’s not concidered a bike or a car ,& due to its weight Polaris was able to bypass A lot of regulations ..now yes in some states they may make you have a motorcycle lic But over all all you need is a drivers lic in almost every state ..

If your in state of Pennsylvania you don't need a motorcycle license to drive one of these

Those wings on the front are for looks, they are very fragile, catch one corner don't matter you are going to be buying parts are have a insurance claim. I got lucky and only had to buy the aluminum cross bar that grill and the so called mustash are wings bolt to.This Part weighs about 3 pounds and is not munch thicker than a soda can , you are going to screw one of these up , they are paper thin. Bad on Polaris part , its not light for weight savings .They get 230 bucks for these pieces of shit .

ATTENTION READ THIS AND SAVE TEN MINUTES OF PAIN: This is the biggest piece of plastic crap I've ever own.Too hot in the summer.too cold in the winter.Rides like a steamroller and the wind noise and burn is unbearable. Its too low to the ground and a complete death trap in case of an accident.A little bump anywhere and there goes your $23,000. The radio is useless. the pedals too close and the seat are too narrow.Not to mention it has no resale value.No dealer will take it for trade in and no bank will refinance.Oh BTW,wait untill the insurance gets you or the cops fines you because you DO NEED a motorcycle endorsement to ride this piece of junk.2,100 miles later still sitting in my garage collecting dust.Next time buy yourself an old jeep wrangler a case of cold beers and a cooler.Head for the beach with your wife or girlfriend and save a lot..a lot of money and headaches.
