I am so happy to have found this community! I found Elise Rose first and she recommended your channel. You are a gem!! I’ll be chaining all night tonight :).
Just want to say thank you so much for making this master class for free, I’m currently doing the 14 day. Especially, for someone like me who doesn’t have a lot of money, but really want to learn. Though, I would’ve paid it because I really want to learn and enjoy learning and watching your videos. Thank you for sharing the love of crochet 🧶 ❤
Great class and book! Want to get my tension right and one day read apattern like a pro!! You are a saver! Love the camera work i could see everything so well!! Ty again for teaching these classes
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re enjoying everything so far. We’ll talk about reading patterns in 3 more days! I hope they help. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if something isn’t clear 😊
OMG, all this time prior to starting the master class, I thought the way I hold/tension my yarn was totally wrong...but I hold mine the same way you do! That's a relief, because I just can't hold it any other way, and believe me I have tried!
Good question! I like to leave about a 5 inch tail when I'm starting a project, when I'm adding a new color or new ball of yarn, and at the end of a project. That way you have a good amount of yarn to thread your tapestry needle when you go to weave in your ends.
My daughter and I tried to do this with a book… It took us way too long on our first try with a book. Found your videos and my daughter and I realllyyyy made progress and don’t feel stressed doing the chain now! Great videos!
Great class. Can’t wait for the others. Although I’ve been crocheting for years, it hasn’t been consistent until last year when I made my son a Mosaic blanket. Sometimes edges give me problems, so I’m hoping to pick up some suggestions on how to avoid that. Also, crocheting in the round. Can’t seem to get the hang of it. Thank you! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
I have a feeling the last half of the class is going to be a huge hit! That's where we'll talk all about getting straight edges and crocheting in the round. I hope I'm able to teach you a lot! Thanks for being here every morning Patricia! ❤️
Hello, may I just mention that your crochet masterclass is good. But I have that the slip stitch has been mentioned, as it is the easiest technique to do. Is there an available tutorial on how to learn the slip stitch?
@@SigoniMacaroni Thank you very much. Life has been hectic so I am behind on the lessons I am a self taught crocheter and look forward to learning from your informative videos. I purchased the basket pattern from you a while back and made it but I definitely had trouble crocheting in the round. Looking forward to the future videos.
I just started today and I used 4.5mm hook but and half an hour I changed it to 3.5 and it's soo good I did the chain part but I'm struggling for 2nd row
It's 4th August, 2024 ,,3 years later .. I know to make chain by my mom , just 2 days later .. I'll comment everyday, I'll do this again n again for 1 months, hope I'll learn to do crochet. I'm 20 yrs old , frm India ❤
Hi! So I’m just starting out with crocheting and stumbled upon your video. I did the slip knot and made it to the chain stitch. HOWEVER, I’m not sure if it’s my hook or what. But I cannot get my hook to latch onto the yarn and pull through. Help!!!
First find the yarn you’re going to practice with and use the hook size that’s recommended on the label. If you haven’t seen Lesson 1, I talk about this more in that video
That's true a lot of the time, yes! But we all learn differently so sometimes pictures can be more helpful in seeing exactly where something goes or how something is supposed to look if the video moves to quickly
Love everything so far. The picture of the 1st slip knot did not match what you said. Wish you would review that a little slower. Didn't see how the tail end got across to the other hand or how the working end got around the finger on the right hand before crossing the tail end. 😳
If you click the three dots in the top right corner of the video you can slow down the playback speed. Also, if you download the free sample ebook (linked in the description) there are photo tutorials to help
See, I actually had a hard time with the Slipknot by watching the video and then I was like I know how to make a Slipknot so I just made a Slipknot away. I know how to do one and it was fine. And then it took a few tries. But it looks like I just had to look away from the video and play with it. And I got it
Crocheting doesn't seem to be for me. After about three chain stitches, my hook catches on threads from the loop. More tension and the hook doesn't fit through the loop at all. Less tension and I get lost in the big loops. I've been at this a couple days, watched a number of Tutorials. It's just too frustrating. So far all I've done is throw out ruined yarn. I don't think crocheting is going to be a hobby for me.
If you don't want to try anymore, that's completely fine. But just by understanding that too tight of tension means the hook won't fit through the loop and that too loose of tension makes your chains more loose proves that you're learning. Again, every person learning to crochet has been where you are now. If you don't have the patience to give it a chance, then yes maybe you should just give up. But if you try again, you might want to try a different yarn or type of hook. Depending on the yarn you have, it can split easier. If you're using a hook with a pointy tip, it will split your yarn easier. If you are, try a hook that's more rounded and a yarn that doesn't split. I highly recommend Bernat Super Value. If you quit, I understand. But if you give it another chance, try these tips and join our Facebook group to get some additional help.
Clearly made a poor choice of yarn. Was at Walmart and got wt 4 worsted. Stiff and sticky. More like string. I’ll remember next time to skip the “worst”ed and find a softer type.
@@SigoniMacaroni Every video is worth watching over and over for me. Some people need the classes for more than just learning but to help with meditation too.
