That was the best live drumming the knots ever had, and they’ve had GREAT drummers.

It’s the first time that SlipKnot’s live drums didn’t sound like trash can lids! I mean that with peace and love.

Eloy is fucking killing it on the drums… I saw Slipknot back in the early 2000’s, and Eloy has brought them back to that level of energy… he seems to have reinvigorated the band… and I’m all for it. 🤘😝

It adds a new dimension to them... Before you had Joey and Jay who looked a bit ghostly and were super technical but now there's just an axe murderer sat at the back of the stage beating a drumkit into submission.

Since you asked what I thought: I'm 41 and learned how to play the drums by playing along with Slipknot, Sepultura, Cradle of Filth... Etc. Joey was praised because he had a very distinct sound and feel when he played the drums. Jay was a great drummer. Super polished and very smooth. But Joey had this very particular feel to his playing. Like a train that could go off the rails any minute but never does. Eloy does a GREAT job of replicating that feel and vibe in ways Jay never did. That's not to knock Jay at all. I was sad to see him go, but it's not my band so it's not my choice. All I can say is at this point they've had 3 very capable and awesome drummers in their band and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with now that they have this new guy in the band. I think I'm gonna go listen to Roots now.

Eloy is a beast! his double bass is just insane! the power, the even sound, well everything I think is perfect, Yes Jay was great, but this guy is on another level, the band feels rejuvenated for real! Awesome video Thanks for sharing!

His drumming style is within the same vein as Joey's style. Raw, brutal, energetic. I like it. I like Jay's style too but when I listened to their last album there were certain moments that sounded like Jay wanted to get more experimental with his drumming. Which is fine for some bands but Slipknot was founded on a foundation of brutal drum beats. So, it makes sense why they wanted to return to that style that originally propelled them into the numetal stratosphere. 🤘😎👍

it seemed like eloy's microphone was slightly louder than the other instruments and corey's voice. It was a strategy to make the drums audio louder so you could actually hear him playing at this inaugural show

Its not for the fact that Eloy is Brazilian as I am, but he sounds so clear and the songs are not rushed anymore. After long years I am lostening to Slipknot again, looking forward to see them here in Amsterdam
