David Rinden music is a subjective experience. Iowa was a great record for sure - all the stars aligned. No one knew who the fuck they were - masks weren’t still off - they were angry. And that album was ultra heavy.
Thanks for this!! I can’t stand how people can try or will talk down about this band they did exactly what they wanted to do within releasing music that they wanted to without holding back ! So regardless whether you like them or not. You have to respect that or atleast stfu !!!
i found an interview with all of that goes into alot more detail about iowa. Its a long article but worth the read Edit: I found it when i was a senior in highschool in 2017 i dont remember how i found it
Joey knows exactly why the band hated him & Paul. Its why Corey got stuck in the band, Chris isn't in the band anymore, partly why Paul OD'ed, & why the band says they've never made any money all these years. You know, all those interviews where they said the label started pulling them apart & whispering in certain members' ears. All comes down to the difference between Song Writer & Performer copyright paperwork. Go listen to Billy Corgie on Joe Rogan tell this is what lead Smashing pumpkins to have a falling out.
@@Simon53188 If you've read the magazine articles from 99-04 & ya know they singed a 7 album deal for only $500,000. then all you should need is "You asked me to love you & I did, traded my emotions for a contract to commit...You Told me to love you & I did, tied my soul into a knot & got me to submit, so when I got away I only kept my scars..." They say Iowa is the darkest album because it almost killed us...what happens when you borrow money from rich people who can afford to be above the law & you try to not pay them back? "Fuck should I sell myself to stay alive?"
I had the suspission, but this interview proved it. It breaks my heart. And I think it created all the bad blood between joey and corey unfortunatelly leading to the entire tragedy...
@@andrewjacobs5579 Do you mean this bit? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GLvqzWSRwnA.html If yes, now it makes sense why at certain point Slipknot started to insist that they all contribute in songwriting.
