Jon, idk how in tune you are with the american metalcore scene, but there are quite a few bands dropping interesting music you should check out like Spiritbox, Bad omens and motionless in white that might be worth your time!
Love the song to bits. Though I’m not getting the comments a few are making regarding them coming back to the heavy as if We Are Not Your Kind wasn’t their last album? That shit punches you in the face, songs like Red Flag, Orphan, Not Long For This World, and ESPECIALLY Solway Firth
People won't be happy until Corey is screaming in a way that destroys his vocal chords again. He cannot do that shit anymore. He still sounds fucking incredible. I'm so sick of hearing the bad takes about any time Corey actually sings it's not hard enough.
@@Amocoru This, also he already did it once and as we've seen it took him YEARS to properly recover. Like yes, Vol.3 AHIG .5 are also good albums but you could hear he still was recovering his voice. Especially on vol.3. Seeing what his vocal chords have been through and his age he sounds fucking amazing and is getting even better everytime i hear him. Seems so anyway to me.
Was that the World Domination Tour?? I saw them on that tour too! At this venue called The Beaumont Club. It has a capacity of like 1200. It was one of the craziest, most awesome shows I’ve ever seen 🖤 You HAVE to check out Jinjer on this channel. You want to get your numbers up, that’s a great way to do it. They’re the best doing it right now in my opinion.
Omg if you like slipknot you should check out scarlxrds album dxxm 2, shit is so crazy I feel like you'd like it, such a shift from what you've heard from him so far I believe
The song is good but nothing more, i think the reason they sound constant catchy is because they keep that formula of heavy unpredictable start, they go heavy a couple seonds and then clean chorus, they repeat that sequence again and then a breakdown or some weird low paced stuff then they come back to the formula... its solid but they have become really repetitive with that formula for their singles on the last 3 albums... i feel they are just going will of its left of them in ideas... this is not nearly as catchy as previous stuff, even the overall sound lacks personality a lot except for two specific parts where this had a Vol.3 Vibe on it, but this and chapeltown rag could have been in WANYK.. missing the times were you really could tell another Era started Going from so different things like Iowa compared with Vol3 and this one being so different to AHIG, and then Gray chapter being again different... WANYK is gray chapter 2.0 and this new songs sound like Gray chapter 3.0 or WANYK 2.0 if you preffer...
Everybody knows slipknot is just done, they cant get any more original or heavier, its not possible, specially because one of the things that made slipknot heavy af way back in the day was Corey Screaming and Joeys Unique Drumming, with Jay weinberg as good as he is, the most unique drummin i have heard from him was on the gray chapter, after that all of the drums in the songs sound the same for me... and corey has lost a lot of the characteristic angry attitude in his vocals, they are so plastic/repetitive now. This new album is definitely gonna be dissapointment, and its not their fault, they are still going after so much burnout trough the time.
@@felipegiraldo8100 Wtf are you talking about. I still like them. I liked WANYK. some of those songs are fucking great. And i liked this one too. They are definitely not done yet in my opinion.
@@felipegiraldo8100 I like complex music too, you can't assume to know what i like or not. I like complex music and bands that change their sounds. But is it really that bad to sometimes just like something that sounds familiar. It's 100% the classic slipknot sound. Yes, it's very simple but just because i like it doesn't mean i don't appreciate it more so when music is complex. I'm a musician myself, i prefer complex music but sometimes simple things can be enjoyed too.
@@metalhead6783 yeah and what did i say lmao? Everyone knows they are done musically, when i talk about that, i reffer to Originality, because obvisously a musician can keep doing music with a formula that works but that is not Original or complex precisely, as i said good for you if you like it, im not Exactly saying people in general don't like it or something like that, but actually that slipknot Originality in music, is pretty much done.. there barely difference between albums now.. im not just hating for the sake of it or getting in a fight with every person that likes their music, like you.. dont get that mad lol
The constant pausing and rewinding for no good reason is ruining this. And he even admits to doing this on purpose. But he's dishonest about the reason. It's not so it doesn't get "blocked". Other channels have their vid up without this self-sabotage just fine. It's about this video not getting monetized. Just be honest about it, and let your viewers know that the $4.34 ad revenue from this are more important than worsening the quality and watchability of this video by 10. It's cool if that's your priorities, if being able to profit of your hobby is more important than the quality of it. Just don't play people for fools.
It's not a hobby, it's this man's job. Plus, I would guess most people who watch Jon are genuinely interested in his input, because his viewers are more so fans of his personality rather than the specific music. If he didn't do the cuts, he'd essentially be working for free 🤷
Genuinely one of my least favourite slipknot singles. It sounded so much like the prototypical slipknot riff especially "the negative one" that it could barely be considered new.(I liked the bass soloish riff but that was about it) such a shame but that's my opinion
