Slope Landing Helicopter Student First Lesson Cabri G2 

Every landing is a slope landing! Slope landings were one of the most satisfying things to "master" during my private-level flight training. (I'm learning in Robinson's)

I noticed how light a grip th instructor had on the cyclic, and the student seemed to have a fierce grip. One of the hardest things I had to learn.

Interesting video, learned a lot about finer points. I noticed the student had a very sound grip on the cyclic, while the instructor had a more relaxed grip. That seems to come with practice and time. In my first hours In FW I had a death grip on the wheel.

Great video Kenny. The two maneuvers that I've found always give students and instructors the most anxiety are Slopes and Hovering Autos. For CFI's, so many things can go south so quickly but if you stick to those fundamentals techniques, have a good lesson in the classroom, those techniques come together. For Students, more unknown. Whats it going to feel like on the slope, how do I stop the helo from sliding, why am I bouncing, can't stick the hill etc etc. I've found also, if you can get the student to keep that sight picture outside the helo on the horizon it makes it very easy to see the helo settle into the slope. Easier to watch the angle of the slope your one as you ease it down. You'll see and feel it if its too much of a slope. I like the use of the Ball the instructor mentioned. I'd forgotten about that, that's another good tool for angle. Biggest thing is the set up and take your time, doesn't feel right move to another spot. Those bigger slopes will come as you gain more confidence in your ability and the helo. Fly safe folks!

Slopes were a difficult lesson for me, as every time the skid touched the tail would rotate (reduced power on main rotor increases tail rotor efficiency) and I would freak and break contact with the ground
