That sloppy Joe meal looked proper good. It's the sort of thing I would take to work for a luncheon. I actually once had a friend called Joe. He wasn't sloppy but he was rather forgetful, so we all called him forgetful Joe because he was always not remembering things. He would always borrow stuff like a spade, some ham or a cat and he would always forget to return it. Unfortunately he passed away after forgetting to press the button at a pelican crossing and being trampled by a horse. Fumbs up.
This one looks like it'd be even better with cheese melted on top! :) Here's a nice recipe for you from a friend - BRAZILIAN CHICKEN PIE PIE DOUGH: (or go and buy 2x puff pastry (bottom and lid)) - 17.6oz / 500g of flour - 7oz / 200g of butter - 1 egg - 4 fluid oz / 118ml / half a cup of water - 0.15oz / 4.2g / 1 teaspoon of salt 1. Mix all the ingredients until the dough has come together and let it rest in the fridge for half an hour. FILLING: - 17.6oz / 500g chicken breast (grounded or shredded) - 4 onions and 4 garlic cloves - 1 chicken stock cube - 8.8 fluid oz / 250ml cream - a tin of sweetcorn (or olives, or mushrooms, or hearts of palm) - 12ml / 1 dessert spoon of mustard - 6ml / 1 teaspoon tomato puree (enough to give colour) 1. Fry the chicken (seasoned with salt and pepper) on high heat in hot oil along with the garlic and onion. Add the corn and leave for a few minutes. Add a little water to deglaze the bottom of the pan and add the stock cube. 2. Add the cream, mustard and tomato paste and let it reduce to a thick sticky sauce. 3. Split the dough in 2 parts and roll out one for the base of the pie and another for the lid. 4. When placing the pie dough in the mould (preferably metallic), do not forget to make holes in the base with a fork. 5. Add the chicken mixture to the pie. 6. Place a lid of pie dough on top, make a hole in the middle so moisture can escape. 7. When the pie is assembled, brush with an egg yolk before baking to give it a nice colour. 8. Bake the pie in an oven at 180°c until ready, nice and golden brown on top. Good luck!

Hi kay, big fan of the videos, hope youre doing well. Would love to see you try this easy recipe for a water pie. Ingredients: 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked 1/2 cups water (that is one and a half cups) 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 5 tablespoons butter, cut into 5 pieces Instructions: Preheat oven to 400 and set empty pie crust on a baking sheet. Pour 1 + 1/2 cups water into the pie crust. In a small bowl, stir together the flour and sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the water in the crust. Don't stir. Drizzle the vanilla over the water in the pie crust. Place pats of butter on top of this. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 and cover sides of crust if needed to prevent burning. Continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely and then cover and place in the fridge until chilled before cutting.

Yum I like Sloppy Joe's. I like how you refer to yourself in the 3rd person. Yay for frozen onion and lazy garlic. I like a splash of coffee in mine too. I like the toasted bread. I like the ketchup in it. TY for the video.
Incredible work Kay you should try making a lasagna soup. Absolutely delicious and u could make some without cheese for Lee. Hope you have a wonderful day and I love you, you're my hero
Sloppy joes are top tier My mom used to make some great sloppy joes. I would say having some melted cheese is essential. Helps balance out the flavors. We usually used American cheese but i think any sliced cheese is good. Cheddar, colby jack, havarti, etc. Swiss might be weird.
Popular sandwich for the longest time in the US, school cafeteria menu and household. In place of ketchup we have canned sauce like Manwich. Not sure if it’s as popular abroad.
The sauce was getting close to becoming sweet and sour sauce. Just needed some vinegar, water and cornstarch. You should have followed your instinct for reducing the ketchup to a couple tablespoons,
I like sloppy joes and so forth, Nance makes them sometimes but we usually have Costco hot dogs for supper. She's a sweet one my Nance, she orders useless things off of Amazon and throws the empty cardboard boxes in the garage for me to deal with later, she also likes to watch those true crime shows where women murder their husbands for some reason. Up the Irons!
Hi Kay Me again, Love the video like always. Im just wondering again if your still working your way around to making my traditional meal (The Rizzler) Thanks again Kay !
@@KaysCooking you won’t be able to find them online, It’s a family recipe that my grandparents made. I can send the recipe and ingredients again if you would like :)
@@KaysCooking Heres the recipe for you :) - place canned sausages and baked beans in a pan and cook. - then mix instant mash powder to some corn can water (trust me) - add the mash to the plate and spoon the sausages on top - ketchup is a must for this as well I hope you enjoy!!!
Sloppy Joe's made at our local cafe... use mince, onions, beef stock pot( with a pint of water) worchester sauce...simmer down. Ordinary bread bap, toasted inside if you prefer? I don't care for tomato sauce either!
I've never had a Sloppy Joe..... somehow the name put me off a bit, but now I've seen you cook them, I'm honestly hungry😊 I'm going to make some ........ thanks for another yummy dish Kay😊❤ Edit: I love your Christmas mug... so pretty😊
